This will probably be a quick trip depending on the weather. Instead of hiking or snowshoeing:), I'll see if I can get on a snowmobile tour just to get a survey of the territory. Maybe the wildlife will be more visible and concentrated with snow on the ground. I'd like to see Old Faithful and find a great hot springs to soak in. I suppose the bears will be a little less active in late October.
I'm somewhat new to this; new truck, new camper and new gear. It will be a virgin run. I won't have a tweaked setup and the weather could get interesting. I've got a pile of new gear to play with. I didn't have much in the way of equipment before starting this venture.
Definitely will be getting a propane fire pit. Probably this one:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KY4S388/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 I've seen one in action and it put out some good heat. Not the romance and visual interest of a good fire but good enough.
Been going through the $'s fast.

Here's what I'm stoked on...this forum and all the great feedback, the responsiveness of GFC and all the cool set up's. My deposit is in although I am months away from getting my camper but I am already taking notes as the excitement builds till I get to set up cabana mode on the north coast for a surf session!

Got my delivery week!!!! Still working out the day. Happy Happy Camper!

Let's just say I should have it before Halloween!!!

Anyone running an awning over the tailgate? It rains a shitload up here and I find myself simply wishing I could stay dry while using the tailgate as a workbench - or just bench. I'm not sure I need an awning on the side right now but one over the tailgate would sure be nice. Recommendations on a reasonably priced one?

Not yet, but I’ve considered the Rhinorack dome awning if I do it. Only issue is the awnings are wider than the space between the rear extrusion so it would be mounted out beyond those. I don’t think the GFC mounts provide enough spacing for that.

Lucky duck, when did you find out and where are you located? Are they doing a west coast delivery run?

Yep, Graehm is headed west. They don't know the exact route yet. My GFC has been complete for a couple of weeks. Damn guys on the east coast (@DoorDing I'm talking about you :) kept whining so they got a delivery first. I'm in Vancouver BC but I think I'll be able to head to Seattle for a couple of business trips to keep him from driving all the way up to Blaine.

For the awning - I want something SIMPLE. Light and easily deploy-able are imperative - and inexpensive would help.

The distance between the extrusions on the back is right about 48”. That’s what I was getting at with my previous post about a rear awning and potential difficulties with mounting one.

Thanks for the comment. I'll just wait until I get mine before I get an awning. Then I can see for myself....

Hey - I'm 99 on the leaderboard (just entered production) and had a question. I know the dudes at GFC are busy as heck, but all I want to do is change the color of my GFC from gray to black, as my silver 2012 Taco Access Cab has black bumper, black Bushwacker fender flares, etc. Since last Wednesday I have been calling daily, left messages on voice mail, e-mailed two different GFC email addresses and after 7 days nothing.
Anybody got any other ideas for me as to how to get their ear?

I was just messing with you. You’ve been awesome on the board so I thought I would give you a little shit. I did think you were on that east coast run though...

Well drop me a line when you're in the hood. it would be great to share a beer. I've got a place in Lac Le Jeune (30 minutes south of Kamloops). With the GFC you won't need a place to stay - but if you do let me know. You can go for days on forest service roads out there.

If it helps I am in the same boat. Been in production for 6 weeks now with no end in sight (after original build date was over 8 weeks delayed). East coast deliveries were quoted as "a few trip per year", so if you aren't west coast it's pretty much shipping or wait months on end. Yet RTT versions on 4runners are popping up and blasted all over Instagram with a "limited run" and rarely any contact for fully paid pre-order customers. I'm at the end of my patience (fully paid in March). Called/texted Graeme directly, called GFC with no answer and the only person I can talk with Elise via email (who answers once a week...maybe) and now messaged via Instagram too. Hope your situation works out for the better, but you're definitely not alone in that respect.

I think it would be very useful if they brought another person on the team to help Elise out

I've been trying to get my striker plates for over a month while listening to my side panels rattle.

Got a response from Wiley here a few weeks ago who said they had lots of them and he would get Elise on it. Finally got Elise on the phone Monday, and was told to wait two or three weeks.

    Hey, GFC.

I’ll move out to Montana this summer and intern with ya’ll...and get these people their answers. Let me know where to send my resume ;)

Edit: Not a joke lol, I’m actually a photographer and college student studying business/marketing.

I agree having more people on it would be nice. Really I think it'd be more beneficial if paid customers had undivided attention. Clearly you can see how much the Instagram page replies to people and posts new products, so in the appearance of people like myself it shows little dedication to paid customers that took leap of faith in pre-order and more dedication to bringing in new customers. Makes me regret putting my money down up front way back in March (just a bit). I'm sure things will work out, but the lack of attention is impeding on how much patience I really have (6 months and waiting since plopping full payment).
