Hello , I have what look to be a small amount of surface rust inside the engine bay near the battery housing. I noticed yesterday when I cleaned off some battery acid. Should this be of concern and if so, should I show to dealer while still under warranty?

Anyone else seen this on their Tacoma’s?

Not sure if that’s corrosion from leaky acid (and if that would be covered under warranty) but worth asking about, needs to be addressed either by you or them before it gets worse.

Did you try wiping it and cleaning yourself? Chemical Decontamination like iron x or any other wheel cleaner can take this off or try using a clay.....or just bring to dealer.

Iron fallout can happen anywhere especially if near railroad, driving behind rusting trucks in rainy weather, or salted roads.

    Good luck
