The mods themselves won't void the coverage. The damage or extra wear they may do is another issue.

The finance guys at the dealership are very good at making those add ons sound like a decent deal. Before you buy an extended warranty check into mechanical breakdown insurance from your car insurance company in lieu of an extended warranty, especially if you prefer independent shops to the dealership service department experience.

Geico does have it fairly cheap- if you bought a new vehicle (they won't warranty used). 99% of warranties will work at any ASE certified mechanic. small mom and pop shops just may not file the claim for you- they may make you do it. If you're not paying the labor though who cares, go to a dealer.

And if you mean "making it sound like" by providing stats and real numbers, thanks :)

No offense meant Ben! I appreciate you providing your expertise here. I’m no fan of any part of the typical sales game ran at dealerships but I also judge each individual on his own merits.

    None taken :)

Im fully aware of the stigma my industry carries. Thats why I try to help out when I can and give honest advice- but in general, its safe to assume you can't take any of those guys at their word when doing car paperwork lol I mean I work in the business and even dealers who know what I do try to pull fast ones... people are shameless
