The Action Packers are now in my wife's Camry so burning them for light is no longer an option.

Great thread idea! I don't think I'll be in the running... mine's not a very cheap setup, and I don't get to go solo very often anymore. I sure do miss it though. Max I've been able to do in one trip is three weeks sleeping in the bed under my Softopper. Other than that I've had a a few dozen shorter stints closer to my home.

Good grief man; you sleep under the picnic table for shelter and protection. Save your hi pressure, skin reduction, car wash money (though you can do your laundry at the same time) for admission to the local pool. Sanitizing swim, hot shower, and no chemical burns from using the tire cleaner on yourself at the carwash.

Ok dumb question, but I’ve taken a nap in my truck by reclining the seat all the way back and cracking the window. It worked great for me at the time. Any downside to just sleeping overnight in the driver seat?

 

You should try the drivers seat. It's more roomy than the passenger seat in my 1st gen at least. Just tilt the wheel all the way up, slide the seat back and recline.

Naps would be fine. I did not sleep well in the drivers seat the night it was SUPER windy at the alkaline dry lake near hot springs I stayed at last fall. I knew that staying in the tent on the ground would end up like the time I camped near Moab in a wind storm - I had to cover my face with a bandanna and woke up covered in a layer of sand from the wind blowing it in through the mesh under the rain fly.

 

Driving from Colorado to Nw Montana went from a 16 hour drive to a 33 hour drive bc of weather... and sleeping in the driver's seat was awful. I kicked my dog out of the dog bed in my cab and slept there. Much better. But now I'm rollin like this...

 

I can easily sleep comfortably in a Jeep CJ5 !!!

 

This is revolutionary. Makes me wanna go take measurements on my access cab to see if I'd fit head to toe with the pass. seat removed. I'm not sure what I'd do if my wife wanted to come along.

 

I went to pick up pizza yesterday and boyfriend insisted we take the Tacoma... I'm not sure how he felt about not having a seat hahaha
