heres a little pano of the inside of my topper when i was on a camping/fishing trip on the crooked river in OR. 4' memory foam and a big comfy sleeping bag...slept pretty fucking good. Definitely glamping. I've since stained the platform which makes it look a lot better in the truck.

La Croix and firearms...I usually have both with me on trips too.
I do like to see outside a bit though

A "Murphy" kit to be exact. It is comprised of a small sack, roll of TP, wipes, and plastic/latex type gloves. I've mentioned this method before but will do so again for those who may have missed it. I used to bury the TP but after a good friend-Murphy-explained his theory I now use it as well.
Glove up before filling the cathole, wipe and leave TP/Wipes to the side in a pile.
After cleaning up, grab the pile with one gloved hand and turn glove inside out over the TP/wipes.
Next grab the one gloved package with the other gloved hand and turn it inside out as well.
    Cover the cathole with dirt.
Finally walk away with your clean hands and fully encompassed glove package of TP/wipes knowing you didn't leave shit tickets, ass wipe to be uncovered by nature to litter the environment.
    The Murphy Method!

Like the idea except I'm assuming the latex/nitrile gloves aren't biodegradable, at least not nearly as much as TP. If they are, this sounds great.

You take the latex/nitrile gloves and place them in the trash, not bury them.

That is a really good idea.

Since we got the teardrop, we have been using WAG bags. Aside from the cost, they put a lot of plastic in the trash. I think I am going to revise my system - at least on those non-glamping trips.

Give the Murphy Method a try. I've had wag bags in the past too but they are more effort than their worth. That being said I still carry a box in my rig along with some cat litter too to add to the wag if I do use them. There are places that require packing out of human waste, i.e. White Rim Trail.
I find the Murphy Method best either in the back country or an established campground (pit toilet). Clean hands and environment are the primary benefit.

Showering in the wilderness = $1,000,000 feeling
Murphy Method in the wilderness = $500,000 feeling

I've recently camped in a location where years ago I buried TP in a cathole. On my most recent trip I did notice some old TP blowing in the breeze caught on hostile plant life- cacti. It wasn't lost on me that it may have been mine from years past. I will never be leaving shit tickets in the wilds again.

Thanks, people often don't clean up properly. A big deal is the flies, if you don't clean up after yourself, you breed flies. I even kick dirt over my dog's poop. Whatever flies are around they're on dog poop in seconds, then about two days later there's another 2000 flies.

I'm looking for new battery options. My group 27 interstate deep cycle just finally crapped out after 12 years of use. Never expected to get that long out of it.
I need something to keep in the bed and power mostly my indel b fridge. Usually only 3-4 days at a time, with the occasional week or two. I do have a suitcase style portable 120w solar setup. I've been eyeing something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDCD9BQ

Anyone have experience with it or something similar? I'd likely run a dedicated power line to the bed to charge with the alternator while driving.

I use a Goalzero Yeti 150. Works just fine for week long trips, especially when you get the 12v car charger. Sits perfectly on the center passenger hump in the back floorboard. I run the cable from the front 12v plug between the pax seat and the center console and then plug it in to the brick while driving. I have a small solar panel to charge it while stationary as well.

The Yeti 400 is comparable in price to the Amazon china knockoff, and is based down the street (Edit: WVC) from me here in UT and would likely exceed your needs.

Edit: I see you are in SLC as well. If you wanna come inspect mine sometime, you are more than welcome to.

Murphy method requires two gloves, right? Cant you just get away with one after you grab the wipes and flip it and tie a knot?

Any reason you don't want to just buy a new deep cycle? I've got two deep cycles in a box in the bed (that my fridge sits on top of).

Thanks for the info. Good to know that the Yeti is working well for you. I had always disregarded the goal zero products because they seemed overpriced. But the 400 is around the same as the one I linked, and it seems like there are open box deals and such to be had. Probably worth a closer look again. I also think the yetis are able to be chained together, which I think is a feature missing from the other brand.

Still high on the list of possibilities. If I go that route, I need to figure out charging and/or isolation for it. Just wanted to see if people have had luck with the all-in-one type units.

Yes, they are pricy, but the cost has Def come down. If you go to any type of outdoor activity event (OR, Shredfest, etc) the goal zero peeps give out promo codes. I think I got 10 or 20% off just for talking to their rep for like 5 minutes. If Emily is still the UT rep, she drives a white second gen as well.
