Plymouth Prowlers may be mediocre under the hood, but they are beautiful to look at...

This should really be in the regular "Car Porn" thread!

In 1979 Plymouth decided to bring out the "Fire Arrow" and it only came in one color.....white! Built by Mitsubishi, the Arrow was imported by Plymouth in the mid-70's but they only ran these 'specials' for 2 years. I actually owned one and told the salesman I would strip every damn decal off of it the second I bought it. Well, I did, and may have also started the black wheel craze back then! (NOT!) Ran that thing into the ground, but it was a good car for damn near 20 years!

Pontiac Astre (ashtray). My bil purchased one of these years ago and asked me if I could get it running. I did, but what a joke. It burned and leaked oil faster than you could pour it in. It used two gallons to drive it 40 miles to the scrap yard.pontiac_astre_group_1973.jpg
His was a coupe in that shit yellow color of the wagon in the pic.

Isuzu I-Mark diesel. My high school ride..... Basically a farm tractor motor with a 3 speed auto, top speed 85. 40+ mpg. Smokey and stinky. Got screamed at a million times at gas stations "hey dummy, you're putting diesel in your car!"

Quite possibly the reason Pontiac failed.... (well this and the Aztec). This is the ugliest minivan ever produced (as if there's ever been a good looking minivan). I test drove one of these once just because I was dying to see how bad it was.. it was really bad.

The 1992-1993 models at least had the 3.8L V6. That's a good motor!

Did yours have A/C? Top speed was probably about 70 MPH with A/C on...

I rented one of those once and drove it from Las Vegas to Phoenix. Easily the biggest piece of crap that i'd ever driven. Lost all respect for Chrysler after that... I'd say the designers and engineers "phoned it in" on that one, but that would be actually suggesting they made effort at all.

    Yep and yep!

The isuzu Imark diesel was the worst car a teenager could ever own. Looking back on it now though, it realize it was hands down the most practical and reliable car I've ever had. 4 doors, zero maintenance, excellent mileage, cheap to insure, compact, rear wheel drive. Wish I still had it, I'm sure someone is still driving mine..... I switched into a Karmann Ghia phase in college. Those things were the chick magnets.

    Yay!

Unfortunately, this broke-ass student couldn't drive your dad's two Honda generators to school back in '91-'93.

But if I could have... *low whistle*...
