I imagine this will get me some flak, based on the fact that I did some searching and it seems LED light bars are what all the kids are into these days. I'm sure they are way better but whatever. I'm more into the classic look with round or rectangular lights i.e. the Back to the Future pickup or old Baja race trucks.

N-Fab has some options. I love how it looks.. I think. I wish I could see it from other angles to be sure though. I'm having a very hard time finding other reference pics of any halogen light bar setups in general.

Anyone have non-LED light bar setups out there or pics of them on 3rd gens? In my mind, this bar setup would be great if you could just unbolt the bar with two bolts and slide it out of the mounting bracket for easy removal. I have no idea if it actually functions that way. Could maybe make something.

I too prefer the old school look.

These are LED but have the more traditional look. KC Gravity 6. Crappy pics but you get the idea.

LED technology is far superior to any other option.

If you like the old-school look, check out VisionX's Light Cannon. It looks like the form factor you want, but works VERY well as a spot beam (most modern LEDs are flood beam). There's knock-offs on Amazon for not too much.

How/Where did you get the blacked out covers? I've got the same lights, but black/yellow covers.

KC gave me the file. I can find it and email it to you if you want. Then just have an decal place make. I had that dude that is from Hawaii that makes bedside decals for people.

It’s just a round sticker with KC on it. Then you stick over the ugly (sorry KC) yellow lettering.

 in to see whats out there.
Sick of the LED bars. Every high school kid with a truck has one now.

Im going to do the Classic round lights up top when i get around to fabbing up my roof rack. Currently in the process of hoarding scrap stainless tube from work and waiting for us to get a water jet for me to play around with.

Haven’t made the purchase yet, but I’m pretty sure I’m going with the N-Fab bar pictured in the first post myself. I want lights for night driving in Alaska, I like the look of big round lights better, and I think halogens will stay clear of slush and ice better.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware they made LEDs in the old standard style housings. Seems like they would be a good compromise; with a cover on it would look more traditional but when you need them they'd have all the fancy new tech.

I have four Hella 500s (2x Driving, 2x Fog) sitting in the attic on a roof light bar I put together my for my old truck, figured I'd reuse those to save some money but we'll see.

Btw, have companies figured out how to make protection covers that won't become brittle and crack after some age? Every Hella cover I've had on mine just snap off into pieces when the time comes for me to use them.

All of these look so much better than the light bars. Thank you, OP, for making this thread.

You might die in that accident anyway so it wouldn't really matter either way then.

I would assume any light fixture, or just anything on the front end wouldn't fair well in an accident. Unless those LED light bars also function as a crash beam? ;)

I'm digging this look.. But, with big rounds it looks like it's blocking that fancy Toyota safety sensor.
    Thoughts..?

I use a licence plate light bar. Custom made bracket bolt in the stock aluminium bumper from behind, go trough the lower part of the grill and support the light bar.

That's a low cost easy idea. Do the lights interfere with the grill sensor?
