Why no ship to PO Box?

Fraudsters use P.O. boxes a ton. You personally don’t sign for a package, say you dispute the charge it’s a different shipping addy that your billing addy. There’s lots of loopioles fraudsters can use PO boxes for. Use to be a fraud analyst

 

Again, had two packages that said couldn't be sent via USPS to my PO box, so chose my physical address. Now being sent back because they sent it via USPS instead of FedEx or UPS. Arrrrggghh, makes no sense!!! Why can't the seller just indicate before hand how they're going to ship the item!!! Why does it have to be such a mystery!!

 

It is frustrating. Apparently the software in the checkout area looks for "PO Box" or just "Box," so you can't put both your home address and PO Box into the shipping address blank in case PO box delivery is verboten. At least the bureaucrat in our post office lets us put #xxx (xxx being the PO Box #) in addition to the street address so she can say the address was correct for PO delivery.

 

Dude, you were spot-on! Found out recently that you can use the physical address of your post office followed by the "#" symbol, then your PO box number. For example, if your post office's physical address is "500 Main Street", and your PO box number is 59, then you can have packages sent to "500 Main Street #59". I just changed my shipping address on Amazon and received two packages today without a hitch. Technically there's a form that USPS wants you to fill out (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjABegQIDBAE&usg=AOvVaw1NV_7xTGUbbVPp9W1tXAsX), but my local post office is rural and said I didn't have to fill out the form. They have one other customer who does the same thing.

Thought I'd update this thread in case other folks are running into the same issue.

 

Some vendors ship the cheapest means possible, and sometimes that is not USPS. In order to be able to ship with the cheapest source, they only get a physical address to not limit their shipping choices or cause delivery problems. I've had the same vendor randomly use USPS, FedEx, and UPS, probably just depending on which was cheaper due to size and weight of package.

 

I've ordered super saver and standard shipping before that went UPS and was dropped off at the post office for delivery the next day by USPS.

I'll get a update that it's been dropped off at the post office. Go up there to get it and they refuse to give it to you. Say with their agreement with UPS they have to deliver it to my address. No exceptions. Now that will piss you off when it's something you really want. lol
