He knew it was too obvious, and some of the cannibals would find them. Later on he says that he thinks they are being tracked by someone, but I don't know if he felt that way when they were in the shelter or not.

I like how it followed the book fairly closely, I am kind of into the post apocolyptic theme, seeing as how we are heading that way sooner or later. Not to thread Jack, but other good reads of the same ilk are Alas, Babylon-Pat Frank, and Neville Shute's On the Beach, One Second After-Bill Fortschen.

When they were in the shelter they had already had the feeling they were being followed. While they were there, they heard footsteps and a dog just outside so they decided it was not safe and moved on.

Watch the making off part on the DVD. Robert Duvale (SP?) made up that line about his son on the spot, and when he was asked, "what happened to you son?" he had to drop that line "I can't talk about it. Not to you." He hadn't though that far ahead.

"Not to you"? He might be the last man on earth you talk to and you can't tell him about your son.

I though that was pretty funny.

Ok. i just saw the movie and noticed that. It didn't hapen that way in the book. He nver heard the footsteps or the dog. He just felt that they were way to vulnerable in the shelter.

If you haven't read the book, I higvly recommend reading it, even if you saw the movie. The book is more moving and quite a bit more disturbing. They left the most disturbing scene out of the movie.

Me and the wife watched it lastnight. It was OK, NOT great. The best part was the flare gun. Had to pause the movie to get the laugh all the way out. Scariest part was when they were in the house and the people from the movie Wrong Turn came home.

that movie sucked balls. i saw a review on attack of the show but decided to watch it anyway. to sum up using the same analogy as attack of the show, imagine "the road warrior" without the action, or any entertaining parts. nothing but sadness and misery the entire time from beginning to end. a complete waste of time. and what parts did you guys cry at? i am no stranger to crying at patriotic flicks or random tear jerkers like marley and me but this didn't get me anywhere close to crying

I read about 1 book every 2.5 years and I'd have to say the book was epic! Tore through it in 2 sittings.

Usually I'm the guy that says why read when I can watch the movie first but today I'm going to say, read the book first. It's chilling.

how bout describing it because i'm not about to waste my time reading that shit. to me the most disturbing part of the movie was the cellar they broke into that was full of people being held for eating. i noticed many were missing limbs which indicated that they went down there and cut off a leg or arm then sewed the victim up to "save the rest for later". could you imagine being stuck like that and eaten one limb at at time over the months until they finally killed you? that was the freakiest part to me.

this is exactly why i'm not having kids. that didn't even give my nose a tingle. but if it had been a dog or something instead i prolly would have teared up. i think that fact alone is a great indication i dont need to have kids

lol I could tell you din't have kids by our reaction to the movie.

The exact reason you didn't like this movie is the exact reason I loved it (and the book even moreso). I can see a million brainless POS Michael Bay movies, but a movie that really makes you think and touches on something so emotional as the love that a father has for his only offspring, while still being really cool and having some action and suspense, is really rare.

Let's just say it involved someone's dinner that the father and boy interrupted.

Maybe you need to have a son or be a parent to fully appreciate it?
