    Overall length: 12ft

Fall of 2017 I picked up a Libby Corporation M116A2 USMC Generator trailer from a friend. It was in great shape for its age (unknown but first production run was in the 70’s).

It was quite the heavy trailer. The deck weighed in at about 250 pounds alone over all weight was around 650 pounds. I quickly ordered an axle to match the toyota lug pattern and mounted it up on some 17” sport wheels and 285/70/17 cooper st maxx’s to match the trucks 255/80/17s. Deciding the deck was too heavy I removed it and mounted a piece of 1/8 inch 4x8 steel plate. Fit the frame perfectly!

From here I welded up sides that are 12 inches high to the top of the rail. Then I made a mounting box for my roof top tent. The box is off set so I can mount things there and not have them stick out off the side of the trailer. I also sized the box to perfectly fit my kayak under the rtt.

After that it was time to paint. Started with the ugliest farmer green and decided against it. Changed paint color to rustoleum hammered silver and I am going to roll on bed line the tops of the rails and the deck to save the paint. At this point I also added fenders and mounted the RTT. 2A9A359A-D7BC-4B4B-B8F1-BEE97B37B57A.jpg

At some point I also welded up and installed lights. ^

    And then the fenders

Also mounted a tongue box to house the battery for it. Wired up some aux and reverse lights and plan on wiring up pther accessories.

    Future plans:
    Enclose the sides
    Solar
    Water tank (have water port)
Mount awning from truck on trailer
    Wire more lights

    Biscuits and olecoot like this.

Man, that is a helluva nice build. I been running 6 lug wheels on my trailers for years so I can use my truck spare if needed and not haul a trailer spare.I just re-worked my trailer and sewed some extra ribs in. Buddy has a fab shop and is gonna lay me a free 5x10 sheet of 5/16 aluminum. Wanted it stouter for hauling a lathe or mill.
