He's right. Something is probably pissing on your seat and now they smell like dog farts.

My Tacoma is new so I haven't had the problem with it, yet. However, on my Highlander I drilled a small hole in the blower box assembly under the dash. Just big enough to put the small applicator hose in. I filled the blower box up from there. When I was done, I used a small black trim screw to close the hole up. I do it yearly and haven't had a problem since. Make sure you let it soak for at least 20 min and drain. Then run the A/C for at least 30 min to get some water flowing to flush out the box.

Does it smell like a dead animal?
Death (decaying/necrotic tissue) has a very unique smell. It can’t be related to other things.

Have you popped your hood and taken a look for any nests near the intake?

Luckily, I've already done so much leak detection
It's not a death smell, trust me I've smelled that before. Not a fun one.

    I'm posting some pictures momentarily.

    Ok. I'm confused, dammit.

This is the blower motor. There was a singular leaf in it.

This is the inside of the windshield cowl. No debris at all.

This is the cabin air filter itself. I just replaced it over the summer, there were a few leaves and stuff. But I knocked them out.

This is the X Files theme song because I have no idea what's going on.

I also did the blindy feely test for mouse nests. Nothing.

Anyone? I may have to contact Alex Jones if I cannot get this figured out!

On a serious note, I sprayed a metric shitload of Ozium into the exterior air intake. Using Lysol would work for anywhere from one week to a month, then it would smell bad again. More recently, it was lasting only a couple days. Hopefully Ozium does the trick.

I tried that stuff and attached pictures of my findings. Any other ideas?

If ozium doesnt do it, you're going to have to go deeper into the problem. I use that stuff on my cabin filter when i have some system funk, or on my window house a/cs filter to rid that smell as well. Always worked.

You sure its not the lingering smell due to the water leaks you were having?

Did you check the basics? You wearing clean underwear, things like that?

Trust me. This is the ticket:
    https://www.amazon.com/nextzett-961...ma+cleaner&dpPl=1&dpID=41kOX3PfSqL&ref=plSrch

Goes in through your air vent and foams around the coils to clean them. Drains out the evaporation hose. Smells a little like lemon after but kills the mildew. Solves the problem rather than masking it.

I haven't tried that particular product, but I use a lot of Nextzett stuff and it's all great.

Yes, obviously hahaha. I'm not homeless.

The smell is coming out of the vents, the cabin smells OK right now.
