I did my transfer case and diff fluids today for first time at around 45k miles. Front had a bunch of sludge and was really black. Rear and transfer case were just cloudy.

    This is the final mix.

Why’d you wait so long and did you ever do the break in change?

I wasn’t aware of a break in change, pretty sure the manual says around 30k or somewhere around there.

    Truck stuff
30k for the first time is what toyota recommends. I did mine at almost 40k and it along with the transfer case were pretty clear still. My rear might have been that dark but I think even that was lighter.

I just figured there would be cause when you install new gears then you have to change around 500 miles or so?

Let's just call it my 401K.
@gulzeb I did mine around 10k and th front was pretty dark, rear was ok. I’m just making it a 10k service from here on out.
