I am reluctantly selling my Taco. It's a 1999 Regular Cab, 4x4, 2.7 engine, white, Tacoma with 104,xxx miles. Just passed PA inspection (Oct, 2018). 2nd owner. It had been my daily driver from 2009 until 2016 when some kids started showing up. It has been dead reliable. Never any big deal issues. No accidents. Bone stock except for "high torque" starter, "dry" performance air filter, ceramic coated Doug Thorley headers, Magnaflow High Flow catalytic converter, and a JBA stainless exhaust. Suspension was replaced in 2014 because of a slight sag (new
leaf springs, shocks, and front struts). Had the frame inspected by Toyota in 2010/11, passed. They did the anti-rust spray coating. Was going to list for $5000 but I've just seen that my frame rust is worse than I thought. If I had more time, I'd just fix it and drive for another 100k+. But I don't have the time with little ones running around, and it isn't exactly a family vehicle. I've included the pics of the 2 worst spots for frame rust (and an action shot of pulling that stump like it was nothing!). Passenger side rear and front. Good candidate for repair (search Safe T Cap). More/better pics to come...

Good Lord, is that frame rust not covered under the new warranty?

It is my understanding that Toyota only covers trucks going back 15 years. So I needed to have acted prior to 2016. Sucks because THEY inspected it and passed it.

I'd go back on them then, if they passed it on inspection then I'd be in the dealership raising hell.

Seriously . Rusting frames on modern (1990+) vehicles is just ridiculous.

Is this why they call these things Taco's because the frame just splits and breaks apart under your rump? This is sad.....very sad only.
