Ah yes, the road rash days. Steering was sketchy and brakes were optional.

I use the same blades :D Did a sample pack from Amazon a couple of years ago and those Astras seemed like the best. Down to my last box (5 blades, 5 weeks) so time to order another hundred pretty quick

My mom gave me her Gillette TTO when I was 19 or 20. Got married with it. Left it at home when I went on vacation once. Borrowed wife's cartridge razor and for 30 years didn't put it down. But . . . razor cartridges make auto parts look cheap. Three years ago, told Mrs. that I needed new cartridge. She tells me price. I gulp and, no kidding, pull old Gillette with 30-year-old blade across my face. It was still sharp and it worked. I haven't used a cartridge since.

My dad gave me the red-tip three years ago and I alternate back and forth. I buy blades 100 at a time and swap them out at 7-10 days. The Astras and some Russian blades, whose name I cannot recall, work well. I've got 2 or 3 boar brushes, a synthetic, and a badger. You see the apothecary mug, and I have a tulip coffee cup from Starbucks (yes, really) that is perfect for the job. I buy the cream 4 or 5 at a time, and a tube lasts 5-6 months. The whisky bottle holds the Clubman after shave your barber used to put on your neck when he shaved it.

Remember when all your trash went in the same can. Garbage truck would pull up and the 3 guys riding on the back would walk up to the garage to get the cans, empty them and return them to garage. No recycling, no curb side pick up.
