Any fly fisherman from Washington State? Spend most of my time Searun Cutthroat fishing in the sound, along with Coho/Pink runs. Close to home so super convenient. Recently spent a couple weeks in Montana mostly fishing the Madison. Fishing was great! 5D7793DE-2CBD-4C5C-8735-406D8B8B7BBA.jpg

I went with this rod. It arrived yesterday and, overall, I like it. I ended up winning the voucher last month as well so now I think I'll pair it with the Allen Trout II reel.

Tied some big October caddis nymphs pictures below.

Swung my 3-wt trout Spey on the Deschutes yesterday and landed this beautiful hen steelhead (24” approx)

Just got home from salmon fishing. Was a little slow the first few days, but picked up yesterday evening. I didn’t land many, but had one hell of a time fighting those kings. I’ll try again this weekend, and maybe remember to take some pics as well.

Took the girls camping this weekend and did a little blue-lining... Forgot how much I love/hate scrambling up waterfalls for little wild trout!

In other, easier to access news, the topwater Striper bite is just getting started on the local lake!

Alright guys, planning my first big fly fishing trip for May-June next year. Who has experience with neoprene wading socks for wet wading? Any brands to avoid?

I've only tried on Simms wading socks, they run small and I imagine are very good but I've never owned Wading socks

I’ve never owned them either but figured Simms or Patagonia would both be reputable. Figured maybe some of the guys from warmer areas might have experience with them.

I've always used the basic Cabela's wading socks. They don't break the bank, but I assume their longevity will depend on usage.

I've been using the same pair for the last 3 years, but I don't get out near as much as others do. And in all honesty I end up just wading in Chacos more than felt boots. The majority of my fishing is a just a side item to a hiking or biking trip, so I'm going in light and with bare essentials.
