I have the perfect solution for you. I bought my 1998 5-Lug SR5 v6 with 450k for $600 with no paperwork. No title or anything. The original California plates had $1,500 in backfees so even if I did get the title, no way I’m paying that.

So I registered it in Vermont with a Bill of Sale, and once I transfer the Vermont papers into California I now have a clean title out of thin air.

Same thing happened to me couple of years ago. Same people broke in to all 3 of my stores and took lot of stuff including safes that were bolted to the floor. Fuckers even took the employee paper work cabinets and any paperwork they could get their hands on and ripped out the cameras and took the DVR. I guess that is how they figured out which store to hit next. At that time I didn't have any alarm. Right after the incident I got alarm installed in all 3 locations. Knock on a wood, I haven't had any issues after that. Right after the alarm was installed, alarm company called me during night and I started watching cameras remotely and sure enough this guy was trying to break in the store, I called Hayward PD and told them burglary in process and sure enough they showed up real quick. I have had to show up at night few times myself, but we haven't had any major issues.
Hope shiet gets better for your and your parents.

If you’re having smash and grab issues, you might want to think about window films. These make it quite a bit more difficult to break the glass. That and great quality cameras.

Silky katanaboy for stealthy firewood missions.

I actually own a silky gomboy and pack it in my work and MTB pack. It's legit and affordable. https://www.amazon.com/Gomboy-Foldi...ocphy=1014073&hvtargid=pla-393445455585&psc=1
