Everything I'm seeing is just for the 2012 model year. Again, I'm not sure if this is even your issue or not, so the info I'm providing may or may not be of any help. Anyhow, here is the letter that was sent to dealers as well as the one I received:

Fn dealer. Half of them always half assn stuff. You will need a new pump. Should be covered under warranty.

I’m at dealer now waiting for a rental.
They are trying to tell me it’s possible rodent damage. Bullshit!

Ain’t that the truth I’m only at the dealer because this should be a warranty issue. Other than that I avoid here

Get your codes read and then come here asking questions. The CEL code will start your diagnostic procedures..

I don't understand why that's not the first thing people do. The Auto Parts stores in most of this country will do it for free.

Get your CEL code read elsewhere so you have something to stand on at the dealer... Hell it might even help you avoid the dealer..

I had the code read by my friend that had a scanner. I got the info I needed before I headed to the dealer for exactly that reason. So I know what was going on.

I had something very similar happen, except I went off a curb and leaf spring hit the exhaust. Long story short, that exact sensor was broken from the event. They replaced the sensor and recalibrated something.. Ive already forgot what is was called, I wouldn't think the calibration and senor would cost that much. $55 part if I remember right, probably asking $100 for recalibration...

Well my truck went into limp mode and I have a p2442 code. I am sitting at the dealership right now and hoping they say it's covered.

    Fingers crossed

Show the dealer this. The pump and valves will be replaced for free. The replacement parts are not the same as the original parts, supposedly.

I have and they are still not sure. They have only done it for Tundras..... never a Tacoma.

    Blah blah blah.

I don't post on the forum but I do use for researching various things related to my 2012 Tacoma Thankful for this thread. I went to leave work this afternoon and as soon as I started my truck the Trac Off and Check Engine lights came on. Couldn't get beyond 25 MPH Thankfully Toyota dealer 3 miles away. Dropped it off as no one available. Came home Google'd and this thread came up. I then vaguely recognized the copied letter someone posted. Dug through my documents and I received it as well. I'm hopeful for a positive outcome when they call me tomorrow. Thank you all for the great info always available here. I'm a 60 yr old female w/ a 2012 42,300 mile Taco. I love it and am always careful when I bring it in for service that I'm being treated honestly and fairly. Thanks again!
