Sweet! Glad to hear you're happy with the Xtreme LED Pro kit! Did you get a chance to take any pictures?

I just installed some H11 LEDs from @XenonDepot yesterday. Great, bright light output for sure. Easy install and brighter than stock. Downside for me is that they do have an abrupt cutoff unlike halogens. Though halogens aren’t as bright it seems like you get a bit better peripheral lighting along the sides vs the sharp cutoff.

I’m gonna drive them for a few days to see if I can adapt. If not I’ll have a set for sale. Just personal preference - they are quality lights. Just my first foray into LED lights

I installed mine over the weekend. The sharp cutoff is from the projector, they all do it, including HIDs. Funny I find the peripheral coverage better than the stock bulbs to the point of the fogs being almost worthless. Down the road the throw and intensity is somewhat of a disappointment but the color temp makes things stand out a bit better. One thing of note is all these pics of light output are worthless unless you use a real camera with appropriate zoom and manual aperture. A wide angle cell phone photo makes it look a lot better than it really is. Has anyone tried adjusting the LED 90deg for a 3/6 o'clock oreintation?

In my experience this is false.

I just ordered the same ones this morning. Good to know to watch for the cutoff. Was installation straightforward? Anything to watch out for?

Why when I go to XD and try to find HID bulbs by vehicle does it show everything BUT the headlights??

That happened to me also. I backed out and found the proper H11 bulb. Make sure the H11 is accurate on the SR5, then order that way.
    Good luck

i meant in the sense where snow builds up on your headlight when you're on a highway, because the LED's dont generate enough heat on the lens to melt said snow

That too. I find it was still harder to see in the snow with my LEDs just do to to it being white on white.

    none (yet)
I installed Hikari LED 12000 lumen on both low and high beams. The lows were very scattered, not focused at all. Just switched to HID (Morimoto from Retrofit), happy with the choice so far, good focus and horizontal cut-off. Working on re-adjusting the height now. The highs are fine with the Hikari, tons of light. HID Install took about 30 min, a bit of a complication on the harness to the OEM infeed. Note that Morimoto bulbs are a bit 'jumpy' on uneven pavement. I may try Phillips or other (recommendations?)

With all this talk on LED vs HID, Are the projectors that come stock with the truck okay to use with HIDs?

No comparison between LED and HID. HID output is vastly superior. Check out these measured lux numbers:

Note the measurements are at the beam hotspot, a single point vs cumulative output. HIDs have a more intense hot spot for better distance projection. LEDs lose the hotspot and have reduced distance projection.

The only practical advantage to LEDs is instant on, simplicity and durability IMO. But halogen H9s can do all those and provide greater output at lower cost, though bulbs will burn out and require replacement.

HIDs are far brighter, but require warm up when turning them on, they are more complicated, they are generally more expensive, they require external ballasts but they also are an omnidirectional light source to uniformly light the projector for better distance projection than offset bidirectional LEDs.

Ah yes, this is true. It doesn’t happen much around here, we don’t get a lot of wet snow. but I imagine it is more an issue where you live.
