A couple weeks ago, I got a 2018 Corolla SE as a loaner while my truck was getting inspected at the dealer. I took a peek at the door sticker and was shocked to discover that a Corolla outweighs my Tacoma by about 700 pounds!

You should be embarrassed that you read the sticker wrong. ;)

A Corolla weighs about 2800 pounds and a regular cab weighs at least 3200.

Unpossible that a Corolla weighs more. Going over the scales at the dump, my taco weighs about 4500.

4,650 is the GVWR, GVWR is the max legal weight including driver, fuel, passengers, and cargo.

For some reason I'd like to say my truck is like 3,100 pounds unladen? Also, on my bumper it says I can tow 3,500 pounds...?

Your bumper is rated for 3500 Lbs, trailer tow rating doesn't factor into GVWR. E.G. our 3500 Ram regularly tows 16-20K lbs (trailer+equipment) and the GVWR is 13K lbs.

I pulled this from Edmunds for the 2nd Gen base Tacoma.

GCWR, Gross Combined Weight Rating, is your max weight for truck+trailer, and is different than the GVWR.

You have a regular cab so of course.
And yes, you should be embarrassed.
