Call them and tell them you want it back. They stockpile the old windshields for pickup. It may still be there. I’d ask.

To remove the Go Pro windshield mount try a thin wire or strong dental floss and slip it between the adhesive and glass so it cuts it off.

Yes - it was expensive. Windshield and labor was over $650 - Toyota dealership tacked on another $400 to re-calibrate. I went with the repair shop that my local Toyota dealership recommended as they do not replace the glass themselves, it also was easier to do 1 insurance claim.

Did insurance cover the calibration cost or was that out of pocket?

Item 3 in the drawing (the cover) keeps falling off after a windshield replacement. Have had both SafeLite and Toyota dealer try but with no success. Any ideas?

I wanted to see how the cover was removed. Here are photos. If it is not apparently, the tabs indicate prying off would be risky and hard to fix without a new cover. The best way to remove is to slide it down

I plan to connect the USB dashcam kit to overhead console wire, use the USB Micro Fem adapter to USB A Fem adapter to connect the panel mound USB A port through the hole into the cover of the windshield box.

The goal is to have a powered USB port to plug any cable to any cam.

Brand new 2018 less than 900 miles took a rock to the windshield. When it was replaced they told me it did not show that it needed recalibration, and the lane departure still works fine.

The camera is in the windshield. The radar is in the grill

There was a thread a month or two ago on here speaking to windshield replacements. Everyone said skip Safelite due to glass grade quality, and you need to specify you want the OEM GoPro mount during a replacement, company in Pennsylvania produces better grade glass(still looking for that thread). When you mix in our sensors and calibration of the same, seems best for now to deal with Toyota.

To be fair, I used Safelite and they ordered in a replacement windshield from Toyota for my 2018. Only problem was the lane departure sensor cover kept falling off. Took 3 attempts but last fix by dealer seems to have this fixed now. The tabs in the photo above goes up in to the holes and the little tabs on the very bottom of the cover click into latches. The cover can just fall out if everything doesn’t lock correctly. It may stay in place for a few days and suddenly fall off! Good luck getting it to stay in place - it is possible.
