I've been thinking (probably my first mistake, haha) about rear suspensions. I understand 3 or 4 link is better for the front because it maintains your castor and steering geometry better than just a radius arm (two link) setup. I have seen radius arm suspensions with some ridiculous flex though, so I'm kind of curious why trailing arm (the rear version of a radius arm front if I'm not mistaken) suspensions aren't more common, aside from the fact that the pinion angle changes depending on the droop, which seems like it would be more beneficial than having a larger angle at the u-joint. It seems like it would be a lot simpler to implement (especially with 4WU's 12-14" coilover mounts) since there's no steering or castor angles involved, especially in cases where you have to worry about moving fuel tanks and what not for a 4 link suspension.

What's the down side? Educate me. :hattip:

They are trying to rip themselves apart constantly and bind up. My friend built one on a grand Cherokee and it has flex for days if you pull one of the upper radius arms off. Flip side of that is you need it back on for the street and his axle has flopped forward a few times when one of the mount bolts broke.

Had to show @Timbo's Customs what real wheeling was. It was a good time, the park has changed some with all the rain we had this year

    Citrus is definitely child’s play

The ledge that took the tire out was very steep and the hill was very soft. Todd and I walked down the hill by the rock garden up front to look at it and you can see where his wheel took a chunk of concrete. Believe the hill was peanut butter

No arguments there. Hardrock is definitely on a whole other level. It's still not as hardcore as A and B Pits were when they were open. They were more like natural rock crawling, not really groomed or artificial like Hardrock is for the most part. Still, Hardrock has gotten more extreme since the first time I went there. Now, I only go every couple of years because it takes that long for my wallet to get over the trauma of the savaging it takes every time I go, lol. And it's probably only going to be worse once I'm running 4.88s and the True Trac in the front--especially after I get on 35s--because I'll probably be even more daring. I usually stayed out of the rock gardens in the past because I didn't have the ground clearance and lacked sufficient belly armor, plus I knew I'd break a CV or both almost instantly. That's changing soon though, so I imagine I'll manage to get myself in worse trouble when something does let go.

You will be 100 times happier once you go 35s and get rid of that locked front. Dom did way more than I had imagined on 35s and opened front and rear. He made it all the way to the top of slickrock before he had to get pulled up the rest of the way. And the most important part, no broken parts (besides damaged front left fender, corner light, and headlight but I don't count that).

But Dom was driving a 3rd Gen T4R. Seriously though, I'm hoping for less broken parts, but I'm still going to be running LTBs so the bite is still going to be there...well, except they'll be 12.50s instead of 13.50s. Dunno how much difference that will make. Smaller contact patch, but more PSI on it vs. a larger contact patch with less PSI.

It would be interesting to see how the Q-tip does on 15.50s versus 12.50s. Too bad I'm not independently wealthy, or I'd buy a set just to put on your truck so we could make comparisons, haha. The good news is, it looks like tires got a lot cheaper at 4WP.

Let’s get a meet up soon before the end of the year. I’m just about done with the Jeep and itching to wheel. Aop, windrock, Harlan etc...I’m ready to wheel with you guys again.

I’ll have a spare seat more than likely for anyone.

15.50s would never fit on my truck. My LTB's rubbed my lower links badly at full turn. I don't think they'd really make too much of a difference anyway, more tire height will do much more for capability than more width.

I'll be pretty booked up until the end of the year, but I was thinking about making a trip up there somewhere around the beginning of the year (maybe February to April time period). It's just an idea for me right now but I really want to make it happen.

They might actually rub your links less. You'd have to mount them on a minimum 10" wide wheel which according to what I've been looking at has a lot less back spacing than you can get with an 8" wheel. My current 15x8s have 3.75" BS. The only option for these wheels in a 15x10 is 3.25" BS. Of course, thinking about it, I haven't really looked at any other style of steel wheel so there might be other options out there. But anyway...they would probably try to eat the front and back corners of your fenders and rub less on the inside.
