In the market for a new battery, i still can get it replaced for free because of warranty, but i run a lot of accessories so i think its best to get an aftermarket battery. What would you recommend? I have a lot of LEDs and a winch.

    Thank you.

    Is there a benefit for running a 27F instead of a 24F ?

Its bigger (in both dimensions and reserve capacity). If you say you have a lot of connections, then a 27F would be a good choice. Just be sure your battery tray can accept the 27. I thought ALL 3rd gens come with the 24F?

Mine is a rebranded northstar. Zero complaints thus far. If you are going through the effort, I see no reason not to goto a group 27 battery.

So I checked their website, they have the same battery but it’s a 24F. Is the 27 better? Is it worth the extra 60 bucks?

The 27 will most likely have higher cranking and reserve.

is there a direct swap 24f AGM available for our trucks? I've been to a couple different places and it seems they are not carried locally at least.

I stopped into my local batteries plus. they don't carry that one, I did look at their display. They also told me I needed a 27f, so their computer is wrong. I don't have a 2nd gen battery tray, but could get one.

There is a duralast platinum in 24f, but I had horrible luck with a duralast gold before, it only lasted 2 years in an area where we typically get 4 or more years out of them.

    ^^This

I keep adding more stuff so I figure having more power isn't going to hurt. I also run my fridge off just the main truck battery - I don't have or plan on putting in a dual battery system.

You can buy the battery tray if you want, but I've seen people who just used the existing one. It'll just hang off the edge an inch or two. It is still bolted down to the metal platform, its just a little plastic guard more than anything. I'm not sure it really does much of anything other than cost $40

Is that sitting in the stock battery tray?

Aside from the height of this Odyssey battery being shorter, is the length and width the same as the stock 24F battery?

I would like to get the Odyssey 34R-PC1500T with the Odyssey Group 34 Battery Spacer and directly replace my factory original 24F battery without having to get a different battery tray or by overhanging the existing tray.

It’s the stock tray, the Odysssey 34R battery is the same dimensions, just 3/4” shorter so I made my own riser, they sell other ones
