My uncle had 6 of those rotting away in his Chicago backyard..none ran, but someday he said they would..never happened sadly

I had to drive one recently, no one could figure it out. It was a old Newport or something. Nice old car. Lil old lady owned it.

 

Had one of those too. Smashed up. "Parts truck" he said..lol

 

Maybe, maybe not. What certainly *has* changed though, is that class was once something you aspired to, and was publicly promoted as such. What gets the headlines (or clicks, I guess) today is not class, but trash, immediate gratification, FTW I'll do what I want. Publicize it enough and it becomes aspirational.

When I lived in Pa, a buddy of mine had a International Harvester refrigerator in his basement. It worked perfect and he used it as a beer fridge.
