Just got back from school on fall break and was catching up on some maintenance and giving my engine bay a nice deep clean. Check out what I found inside my air box:

Cleaned it all out, my filter was also packed with nest material. I also took off the cowl at the bottom of the windshield and it was absolutely filled with nuts and nesting material. No wonder stuff was getting into my blower.

Good advise this time of hear. On another vehicle I had mice eat the air filter and some of the paper bits lie against the MAF. Engine would not run and left me in a bad way..... On the Taco, had a mouse die in the HVAC fan assembly. - bad,bad......

I have an AFE filter which has a wire mesh that hold the media in place. If it had been a paper filter I think they would have chewed right through and gone into the intake lol. I also pulled the blower motor and it had a bunch of stuff in it, but no dead mice.

This goes to show that keeping up with maintenance is so important to prevent more costly repairs.

Exactly, my alternator also seized while I was gone because it wasn’t driven for about a month. Worst thing for a car is for it to sit!

Unless you are lucky enough to have a climate controlled garage and a trickle charger like me:)

Maybe one day I will. Anyone know of any good mice repellents to put in the cab and engine bay?
