Based on replies I would consider the Sport, though I like the black accents of the OR better. What would the premium package offer that the technology package wouldn't?

The Premium Package includes whatever the Tech Package has. You can go to the "build it yourself" feature on Toyota's web site to see what the packages include.

I’ve only had my TRD off road package with tech package about 10 days and 500 miles. It does have trouble holding 6th but doesn’t seem to shift so much that it’s annoying. The power band is over 3000 rpms. If you are towing that setup I assume you’d be above 3000 at all times and into the 5-6000 range on a regular basis. Gas motors are designed to handle that and I would have to assume you’d get around 10mpg towing, which is fine on such a limited basis. I’d say go for it, and agree work the taco a few times a year versus driving a crappy mileage tundra all year long.

Other full size trucks are getting better fuel economy than the Tacoma pound for pound

He said he didn’t care about leather, climate control or sunroof, so why premium? All he wants to Tech or no options. Sounds like a bare bones TRD Off-road is the ticket.

The DC long bed is long like a full size. The sport rides smooth to me and pulls two four wheelers on a 14 foot single axle nicely with the V6 auto. The offroad may have a slightly higher resale but I'm just driving in snow in the winter or mild offroading. Handling is great everyday.

Do you have anything to actually add to the O.P's question,or are you just a troll.

That’s always been the case comparing mid to full size. No surprise there. Look at the Frontier or Colorado. Neither get any better than the Taco (barring diesel but that’s got its own issues).
