Thanks to @crashnburn80 ! If he didnt have a 2.7 pulley I would have been hosed. Pulley. Boyz managed to give me two wrong pulleys! Otherwise I'd have a 2.5 on.

Oh yeah, there was that too. Good thing we buy the same mods so between the two trucks we can always make one work.

The pulley hub needs to go on further than the urd tool allows. In haste a 19mm box end seems perfect. The inside of the wrench points apparently made contact. My superhuman strength was too much. A 21mm box wrench was perfect. Fortunately I have room to file the high spots off. Could have been worse. It runs great. Cant wait to get the correct pulleys. Mine have one too many ribs.

I need to get one from pulley boys before I move since they are right down the road.

EDIT: as long as I can run a 2.8 with regular belt and current mods (Walbro 255 pump and regular S/C injectors (455cc IRCC))

And just don’t completely lose the install tool in the middle of the process.

Yes you can. I have a 2.8 with a DW 255, TRD's upgraded injectors, and a OEM length belt.

    Whoa boy.

So here is the deal. Over extensive time, research, and proven mileage on others vehicles, I have found that pulley sizes in between half inch sizes will allow you to run a belt which is half an inch shorter than previous sizes.

Say you run a 2.7 or 2.8" pulley, step down belt sizes to a 70" belt. Stock size is 70.5 while utilizing a 3.0 pulley. A 69.5" belt which is 1" shorter than stock length should be utilized when running a 2.5 pulley. You could likely get away with running the 69.5" belt when using a 2.6" pulley.

Example. I am in between half sizes of pulley's as I am currently running a 2.3" pulley. I use a 69" belt, because if I go 68.5 that is way too tight and that opens a risk to breaking the tensioner.

I will update and edit the first post to reflect such information soon.

Further investigation shows there is a 6 rib version of a 70" long (1778mm effective length) serpentine belt available from Gates. If folks running a 2.7 or 2.8 pulley would like to step down in between belt sizes for in between pulley sizes, you could order this one off Amazon and slice off a rib from it with a razor blade on a vice.

Five rib Gates for those of us who don't have vices in their garage.

Magnuson supercharger, 2.6 quick change pulley, 76mm throttle body, Doug thorley long tubes, urd y pipe, wot box with 2 step, 170 thermostat, airaid intake, urd short throw, djm 3/4
I was the fastest. The black one on the left of my blue one is also supercharger. Running the 2.825 pulley. We raced and I pulled on him pretty good. The other 2 are mostly stock. One guy who couldn’t make it has a built motor and a urd blower. His is fast. I wanna race him next time.
