Truck has BSM and RCTA. I want to put in the sides for offroading and towing.

Auto-switch with blinkers would be a bonus and theoretically I can set it up to only work when I'm in camera mode or to auto switch to camera mode by also tapping it into the reverse signal wire. Not sure what I'll do yet.

There needs a way to set it up to the blinkers. Once on the camera stays on. The when off goes back to radio. The RV people do it.

Just had one of these installed tonight. I was their last install of the day. Dude shows me the install, clean. Looks great. I pay the man, he takes off. I go to leave. The unit starts rebooting. I stop. It comes back. I go 10 feet forward, it reboots. Turns out that whenever the vehicle is moving it just reboots continuously in a loop. If I stop for a while it boots up and works perfect, even if in gear. But as soon as the wheels are turning? Rebootrebootrebootreboot.

    ...awesome.

Can't find any reference to the problem on google, either there's a power issue or they messed up the install or ???. Any ideas?

I think you got a bad install. I’ve had mine for over a month now with no issues.

It's like the speed sensor wire and accessory wires are swapped or something.

How’s this compare to the alpine switcher and multi view cameras?

I initially put an Alpine camera in the back but it was alot worse than the stock one, so I referred back to stock. From that experience in not very happy with Alpine cameras.

I'm not sure the Halo9 can use the Alpine switcher.

I finally got around to putting the front camera on. I made a bracket for it in PETG.

I see a lot of posts about android auto users. Do any of you that have done this use carplay? I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions

I took my unit on an off-road trip this last week and experienced rattling of the unit itself.
    Anyone else notice this?

Also, I need to get a camera switcher... front facing camera is a must.

I had rattling when I had to drive around with only one bolt holding the screen on. Once I put all the bolts on tight, it was solid.

Edit: Oh, nvm, it wasn't offroad.

okay, so last night I needed to fine tune my install from a couple weeks prior. Also, bought the SIRIUS XM Module. Plugged it in and it worked fine. I got HDMI to work great with mirroring my iPhone no issues. One thing I have noticed is carplay is extremely choppy. I even used the USB/HDMI Combo cable (Alpine Brand) that you can buy for extra money. The Maestro Unit works good and I got all of my functions. Carplay is choppy on NPR One, Pandora, Spotify, and Podcast. Waze and the other apps work great. i am using an 8+. I can stream over bluetooth just fine, but that kind of defeats the purpose of using carplay on this unit. can anyone confirm if they have seen this or if it works just fine for them?

I was really excited about this HU until I installed one in our Tundra. It was a major disappointment.

I took it back out the same day. The stock Tundra unit is better.

Since the 3rd gen Tacoma HU is better than the Tundra HU, I don’t know why anyone would want this in their Tacoma.

I've had it for several months now and to me it's still the best one currently out there. I tried the latest Kenwood with wireless android also, but the screen seems so small and I don't like the look of the dash kit.

The only change I would make is a higher res screen for high res cameras and a smaller bezel, but that's about it.

Umm... and wireless... I’ve installed probably close to 30 of these. Not bad but for the money and being the “first floating like” screen, they should have added it. That’s alpine for you though.

Yes you're right, wireless would be great, esp so I could just throw it in the wireless charging area.
