G2 Bakflip dimensions when folded *most* of the way 2nd Gen ShortBed?

I'm hoping someone with a G2 Bakflip and a 2nd Gen shortbed can answer this question, I've searched around and can't seem to find the answer i'm looking for.

When the G2 is folded up as much as possible but still horizontal (not blocking the rear window) how many inches of space exist between the g2 and the inside of the tailgate?

I ask because I'd like to continue to use my tailgate pad for transporting mountain bikes, but would like to be able to see out the rear window to keep an eye on the bikes, incase they need adjusting, or when stopped at lights, that someone doesn't just sneak off with one.
