I live in Temecula and have been having a hard time finding places to hit trails and camp.
I’ve been up to wildomar and lake Elsinore
Also idylwild, that wasn’t anything great.
I just hit a couple trails by silverwood lake which were some of the best ones I’ve ever done to be honest.
I’m wondering are there any other places to go that I’d be able to hit trails and camp for the night in Southern California?
Done Anza three times. Barstow too.
Need a change of scenery from the desert landscape
Big bear, been there too. Usually get a cabin tho and the trails are more for serious rock crawling jeeps.
The best place I’ve been to was sequoia national forest but it was like a 5 or 6 hour drive. Worth it if anyone is curious. But I can’t do a 4 day trip normally. Anyone have any recommendations?
A spot where I can drive to and hit some trails, camp for a night and head home?
    Let’s get a list going

    Mammoth or Utah?
Edit..... only places for forest are idyllwild and big bear. The rest is desert. Try Joshua Tree.
