West Trip with Family to NW

    Hiya all overlanders :)

    planning a big one week trip from CO to Oregon, however want to hit death valley and sequoia park on the way to oregon, looking for suggestions where to camp and stop by, i am traveling with family so sounds like they are not to excited for heavy duty off road trails mostly seems site seeing but would love to hear suggestion or maybe spots where to hit and stay over night, would greatly appreciate any feed back.

    Once you get to Oregon check out Oregon Caves and Crater Lake.

    thanks, i got that on list, so my plan right now is to make to death valley and spend 2 days there and then head north towards redwoods and spend some time there and head north :).

    Yosemite in CA is a good family site seeing place. Also, to add to Oregon, there are the painted hills and Smith Rock for sure seeing and hiking. There are lots of fun places to go off reading and camping in central Oregon around those things as well. Painted hills are a bit further, haven’t been their but could be a good place for your trip.

    yeap just returned from 4k of round trip went to DV, spend 3 days there, then went to yosemite, ca, then went to redwoods and then bend, painted hills, smith rock, lava rocks and then returned back to Co, couldnt hit UT due to big weather system that moved in. over all good trip

    Death Valley is my favorite national park, with exception of Yosemite.

    Furnace Creek campground is really nice in DVNP. Lots of facilities, and usually good availability. Campsites are plenty big as well.
