Seen on the news they ran out of time to get them out of there, whatever that means

 

Usually when a hurricane comes in they move them out to states not effected and that have the room. We are usually loaded down with out of state military A/C during hurricanes on my base

 

From what I read, two aircraft had been cannibalized and wouldn't be able to get off the ground and one couldn't be repaired in time, but it isn't clear (and I doubt it was) any of those three aircraft were F-22s.

There were all in their designated hangars. They weren't on the flight line.

 

So I'm sure I'm out of touch, but from what I understand the 22 has the lowest mission readiness out of the AF's fleet at below 50% for a number of reasons, and part of the reason is that the F-22 is a pretty exotic airframe to maintain. One, it's a fifth-generation fighter, thus a highly technical and advanced piece of equipment and two, it's no longer in production so a loss of an airframe or downtime is expensive in ways more than financially.

Understandably, the situation at Tyndall is being kept as quiet as possible with few details being released. If however the initial reports are anything close to being accurate, then the F-22 fleet has been ravaged and that's not good by any means.

You will be surprised even on over cast day you will still generate electric. Just not at full capacity, but some is always better than none, also you dont want a full charge running through the system until you are sure everything is working correctly. Think of it as a soft open, lol.

We pour lots of pump pads and such but we pour the chemicals to it to heat it up
