Ive gone to probably 3 or 4 places in the past but never really found anyone that seems too willing to align to non factory specs. The last place said they do a lot of lifted vehicles but said i needed aftermarket uca after i told them what my setup was and seemed offended when i handed him the tc instructions/ suggestions for alignment. Im only about 2 1/4” lift in front so nothing too extreme

I’m looking for the same in SLO. Are you saying you don’t have aftermarket upper control arms? And who did you take yours to for alignment that said they do a lot of looked at vehicles? I have SPC adjustable upper control arms and new/bigger tires and need to get a decent alignment. Hopefully we can find somebody in the area that knows what they’re doing.

Ive gone to the tire store on s. higuera because ive bought tires from them a couple times. They do the “old school” technique as he said without computers and stuff. That was one of the places i handed the total chaos instructions to about caster if you try to allign to factory #s. The other one was San Luis Autobody on granada he didnt really even look at instructions either said his guy was a toyota freak and did a lot of hard wheeling no problem. Pretty sure he didnt show up that day. Had my brother pick truck up because i was working a bunch of overtime and it was hard to get stuff like that done at the time. Printout said i needed aftermarket control arms lol. It was fine i just would have like to add some caster because the wheels were pulled back to cab mount after i put on uca’s. I was just looking for a competent shop as far as knowing what works best with a lifted tacoma. Not sure where im going next after lighter rear springs ill drop coilovers and need another alignment. Someone gave me some #s on here to what i should be looking for with my tire/ wheel size etc.
And im just gonna be on em. Let me know if you are happy with where you end up at

Sounds similar to my experience in Morro Bay. Guy just aligned it to factory specs even though I put on 255/85/16 and SPC adjustable ucas. He didn’t even adjust anything on my ucas. I ended up doing a cmc this weekend because I was rubbing so much. Turned out really nice. Had to trim the inner fender and take off my mud flaps. I was reading on the 805 thread that a shop/guy down in Santa Barbara (Superior on upper Milpas/Paul) is supposed to be really good with doing alignments on modified trucks. I’m going to call down there today and setup an appointment. I live in Cayucos, so it will be an almost 4 hour round trip, but whatever. Tired of getting the run around. What were the numbers you were given to shoot for? I’ve been doing some reading and looking at some numbers guys been posting and I’m just curious as to what I should be shooting for is well.

Caster +2.5, camber +0.25, tow in +0.05. I have 255/85/16’s as well. Wheels 8.5 wide and 4.5 bs but not sure if backspacing comes into play. Coming from 7” oem wheels and 265/70/16 tires to 255’s increase scrub by about an inch. These are pretty close to caster +2.5 tow +0 and camber +0 that most people recommend on here. Ive probably heard about the same guy in sb here on tw but theres gotta be someone locally

You would think that there would be someone here locally that could wrap their head around this. I'm sure there is but finding them is the issue and I need this done. If you find someone be sure to let me know so that in the future I don't have to drive to SB to get an alignment. Thanks for the specs. I've seen the +2.5-3.0 caster, 0 camber and 0 toe many times here. I've also just been told by Jason from glorifiedwelder that my caster should be close to + 4 degrees. He is the guy all the guys in the 805 use for cmc's and from what I hear he really know his stuff. I'll let you know what happens with mine down in SB.

I have no helpful info for you guys, but me and my wife went on a roadtrip a few months back (40 days and 11,297 miles), passed through San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Santa Barbara areas. Beautiful, you guys are living in paradise!

Also, sea lions, elephant seals, and Big Sur.

Slo Auto body has an older guy who was actually worth a shit. He knew toyotas and would get it done, but i dont think he does them anymore. Last experience there was terrible.

I no longer live in the area but I have a friend with a tacoma who does, he cant find a place either.

My advice would be to find a place who usually messes with track type cars. First thought would be to contact a place like Maximum Motorsports(they road race mustangs) they might at least know a place in SLO who does good work.

    Or even Poly Performance.

Check out the big brain on @slolane! Great idea on Poly Performance, man. I just called them, spoke to Eddie, he is going to find the out who they take all of their builds to and get back to me. Said they will be able to help us out. I will update this post once I hear back from him.

So, never heard back from Eddie at Poly Performance yesterday. But, did call down and schedule an appointment on Friday at Superior on upper Milpas in SB. The guys in the 805 thread recommend Paul there highly, so for the time being that is what I'm going to do. I'll post here on the results and if I hear back from Eddie, I'll post here. Seems crazy that it's so hard to find someone in SLO county that is knowledgeable and capable of doing this.

So, I went to Superior in SB today and had Paul there do the alignment. Worth the trip. Tiers don’t rub even at fully turned and stuffed and I probably wouldn’t have had to do the cmc if I had gone there first. Truck drives great. Too bad there’s not someone up here they can do what he did.

I could ask my Brother, He is the main Mechanic at Perry's in Morro Bay has a LS swapped LC. I'm sure he would know who can do it around you. Grew up in Cayucos but live up near SF now.

I have 265/75/16 lifted 2.25" front and 1.5" rear installed my TRD Pro 2nd suspension with added front spacers. No UCA.

I had the "West Coast Wheels n Tires" SANTA MARIA installed my kit for me and aligned my truck.
The alignment is pretty good so far.
I have seen them installed a 6"lift on a brand new tacoma...

    Check them out
