Received an email from Rafael at OV Tune last night, who recommended with basic modifications to go with the the custom tuning route vs. the handheld. I'll be using 87 Map majority of the time, so won't be changing very often.

Can anyone chime in is it better I order the custom tuning package now prior to the 1.05 Release, or should I be waiting? Or will it just be a matter of a software update to 1.05 and then log for the custom package?

Others may think differently but if I were you I would order now and get set up before 1.05drops. Mat and Rafael will be bombarded with quests, complaining, etc when that happens and it will be longer before you get all set up. Just my opinion

That's what I did. I just flashed 1.04r last night and holy shit what an improvement. Can't wait to see what 1.05 is like. My truck is 95% better already.

Got tired of waiting. Bought some bilstein 6112s and 5160s for a weekend project.

Hey me too! I got a pair of Camburg UCAs along with it. I'll get my stuff installed next month. Let me know how the truck looks before and after.

My buddy has a shop and a lift so I will do mine when they come in. Maybe I can load 1.05 this weekend too.

Just to confirm, I'm not losing anything by not getting the TSB, right? I plan on just getting 1.05 after it drops. I'm on 1.04 now.

Correct, 1.05 is supposed to incorporate what is in the TSB.

Also I already have a 3 inch rough country lift. The bushings are bad though so just upgrading

For those of you who have bought the tune, how long does it usually take to ship? I ordered mine a week ago and the USPS tracking number still shows that a shipping label has been created but they haven't received the package. I've emailed a few times, but no response. Is this normal? I don't mind waiting if need be, I just want to make sure I didn't throw away almost 800 bucks.

Have you used the new email address? You've not thrown your money away, I had a wait also, can't remember how long, but glad I got it, now I guess I'm waiting for 1.05. LOL

Nobody has been ripped off, and as far as email responses go - OVtune is basically a two man show with a boatload of stuff on the go. They are currently neck deep in new tune development also.
Having said this, I get it. You want something for your hard earned money. It'll come.

    :)

Really? Have you (with three posts at this point) noticed that there is over 1300 pages in this thread? Have you read more than three pages? Have you noticed the feedback in this thread, from BOTH the manufacturer (OVtune) and satisfied customers? If you were THAT concerned about losing $800 did you conduct due diligence by a rudimentary search on TacomaWorld and the interwebs?

What did you summarize from reading this thread that strictly annotates reviews on Tacoma tunes:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/poll-ovtune-reviews-3rd-gen.535928/page-3

Let us know what you learned from the OV Tune Facebook page: What's your conclusions regarding the Youtube videos about the Tacoma OVTune? Here's a few to assist your memory:
