Yeah, I totally get it. It's been the same here but no complaints.

Haha yep! Truck is coming along nicely! My dog and I are loving the topper.

I've heard of people using pond liners or zip-ties between the leafs to stop the squeaking. I haven't done the zip-tie method yet but it seems to be the most simple and the easiest solution.

How's work been? Logging a fair amount of hours?

Yup! The front bumper isn't going anywhere any time soon. The rear bumper I'm willing to part with for a high clearance dual swing-out that will match the cuts I've already made to the bed.

    Late update,

    Added a Warn VR-10S with synthetic rope and a Factor 55 Pro-link.

Super happy with both and the winch had already paid for itself at least once.

I was reading on here a while back about someone using some rubber strips between their leafs to help with this. Just a thought.

Whoops... I meant to quote you about he pedal commander... but the winch looks awesome!

I just did a trip to Big Bend 1.5 weeks ago and I was thinking we need to do a Taco trip.

And yeah, I have been flying at least twice a day, generally 1.5 hrs at a time, but there is usually lots of briefing and paperwork in between for the students... which is getting old... lol

Yeah, I have seen a few of these ideas... the one I think I like the most is just having a whole drilled and an actual spacer installed, but still looking around. I have a few threads I am still reading through...

Ohh I gotcha! Yep, sold the Pedal Commander.

The wif and I were just talking about hitting Big Bend around Thanksgiving. Spend a few days camping and trail riding the truck and bikes.

That's pretty good! Sounds like typical aviation, 10 minutes of flying = 15 minutes of paperwork lol

    What's up guys?

Robert, I'm really hoping you get those issues with the Sriracha Taco figured out soon. I gotta see that beast in action!

Chad, good (FINALLY!) meeting you on Sunday! Seriously, for my first year on TW I didn't read a single post you hadn't already liked. I thought you were a bot

The Austin TTC group was really cool, too. I'm not one for crowds but everyone was really nice and welcoming. Looking forward to the next CnC -you guys should convoy to the SA CnC sometime! We've had some downright impressive turnouts

Oops! Thought I replied, my apologies good sir. Yeah me too! Looking like it's gonna need a clutch soon. Have stopped driving it for the moment in case I need to limp somewhere to get it worked on. Thinking I may tackle it myself though.. Would be a good learning experience for sure.

I've not done a clutch in a taco yet. The only one I've done was in my '79 CJ7 and I can't imagine any modern vehicle being half as simple as that one was. Luckily we are blessed with YouTube and TacomaWorld! If you do end up doing it yourself, take lots of pictures! You going to swap out the flywheel too?

Yeah I don't think it's technically difficult, just a lot of shit you have to take off to get to the tranny.. For example, ypipe, starter, shifter, slave cyl, header brackets, etc all have to be removed to drop it. I've been doing quite a bit of research and talking with a guy from Canada that also has a 6spd and has dropped his trans 4 times now. He is super informative, so hopefully if something goes wrong, he can be a good information resource. Been reading the factory service manual as well, and there is great step-by-step instructions in there. Will definitely take a lot of pictures. Already started ordering tools like jack stands, tranny jack, long extensions, and other assorted necessary goodies. Going to swap out the flywheel with a rev-fast lightweight one so I don't have to get the OEM one resurfaced, and because RaceTaco! :burnrubber:
