Yes it will fold forward, check out softoppers website. As far as the windows, I agree they would be nice, but so far it hasn't been an issue. I use spot mirrors on my side mirrors to help. I have seen both the best top and softopper in person. For the 3rd gen softopper is definitely a better fit. Best top didn't update their design to look as good on the 3rd gen. At the end of the day it comes down to what you like both are quality made, I just prefer the better fit and finish of softopper.

Agreed... From the pics I've seen, the Bestop version seems to leave an usually large gap between the front of the top and the back of the cab. You have clinched it for me. I'm gonna go with the Softopper.

I've had a softopper through 2 full Canadian winters and it still looks new. The more vinyl windows the more chance of it cracking. That was a huge consideration for me.

 

another vote for SofTopper, i play in a band as well and we use my truck to transport the big shit-- cabs, bass drum, toms, and hardware boxes. i love it because i can't commit to having a shell on all the time. you'll love it too!

 

How much noise does the topper make? The soft top on my Jeep is louder than the 35" swampers.

 

That's a good question. I actually don't notice it at all but I have had mine up for close to 3 years straight only removing to carry large items that probably also make noise. I have not noticed anything though.

 

Literally zero noise, even on the interstate.

That looks awesome! Where did you get those headlights? Is it easy to change the color?

 

I made them. They have RGB demon eyes in them. I've got them wired up for only red right now but they can do any color

 

I really dig that setup. Is it hard to build your own? I wanted to get some headlights that say "TRD"!

I bought a cheap pair of lights off eBay to practice with first. Then I did a full retrofit of my personal headlights. I’m glad I did the test run first. It’s time consuming and you need to have good attention to detail. Definitely do your research before attempting it. So it’s challenging but not impossible.
