Bought a new 2018 TRD OR (3rd taco for me). Love it but she's short!

DISCLAIMER: Before I get too much spacer hate, I ran OME with Dakars on my 2nd gen for 5 years and 80k miles. Can't speak highly enough of the OME kit, really performed well for me, on and off road. So I plan on putting OME on my 3rd gen as well...just gonna be a year or so before I can convince the wife that I need to throw another $1700 at the taco for a proper lift. So in the meantime, I can live with a small spacer lift. ~$100 for spacers, love working on the truck (free labor), and ~$50 alignment is doable for now.

Question: When comparing a 1" spacer lift (front and back) vs. a 1.5" spacer lift (don't want to go any higher than 1.5" with spacers), how much lift can I safely get away with considering a fully stock OR suspension. It'll be a few years before I have the courage to take it off road, so this temporary lift will be purely for show on pavement. I don't want to bottom/top out the stock shocks over speed bumps, and I don't want to shove the front coilovers down so far that it firms up the ride and/or makes it too stiff.

    Thanks for any input.

    Hi,

Take a look at Bilstein 5100s for the front lift. It's under $200 and you can adjust the perch height. You won't need to worry about shock stress.
