Anybody heard of or have any experience/thoughts/opinions on the JDMFV fog light covers? $14 including shipping.

I’m looking for a yellow film to cover my 2018 SR5 factory fog lights. Want film before I can drop bigger money on actual lights.

Looked into Lamin-x and seems to be a similar product. https://www.jdmfv.com/precut-fog-light-overlays-vinyl-tint-kit-16-18-tacoma/

    Thanks

I’ve used lamin-x before and I thought it was a great product, but when covering a convex surface a hairdryer made the film easier to stretch and form

I just bought Hella yellow bulbs for my fog lights, seems way easier to me. They work great, and give a great view in snow and rain.

I also like the look of being yellow all the time, even while the fogs are off

No problem, the other brands may have a similar texture (wrong term I know) but the hairdryer will help soften and stretch it while you place it how you want it

So I got the film I ordered from JDMFV. Installation was a pain. I understood that applying a flat film to a convex surface would take some finesse and patience, so I think I did an ok job with them.

Once installed, the film looks a little hazy and has certainly de intensified the brightness of my fogs.

The installation instructions called for too much water to be sprayed on the film and light. The water is supposed to help to guide the film over lights, but in my experience, they instruct to apply way to much. It jsut became a wet mess trying to apply, as the film slid everywhere.

I reached out to JDMFV by email three separate times, just to let them know the issues I had with install. I never got a response. Terrible customer service. I'd stay clear of them if your looking for any kind of customer service at all. I'm holing out for a decent upgrade for my fog lights.

Thanks. It looks much better at night when the fogs are on.

Not bad for $14. Just terrible customer service
