I'm in Florida, my hills are overpasses. It holds 6th well, will on occasion shift to 5th but it's all smooth and haven't seen 4th except with tropical storm winds at me going 80mph up a bridge. Much improved.

Thats great to hear! I am in cedntral texas and to get to the mountains, you have to cross west texas. Takes about 6-8 hours of the most boring drive you can imagine. CC would be epic if it stayed in 5th or 6th for those 6-8 hours.

it was worth it back when all the Tacos ran like total crap and we were freaking out about it.

seems most of the '18s and some of the '17s are running fine without it. so, that's up to you whether you're motivated or not. the only news happening is the biggest release yet, 1.05, is about to drop, and we're expecting good things. so, as far as performance goes with 1.05 coming, the jury is out.

I have a MT and the pedal commander which I think is great so my main issue is mid-range torque or lack there of. Do you know if this tune will address or help with that? I did read the spec sheet at the beginning of the thread but my brain is in work mode and I cant seem to decipher what was said. I know it's mainly a gearing issue but I think you know what I'm saying.

Is it just me or does anyone else’s truck drive terribly for a day every once in a blue moon?

If you run the 91 octane tune, there's a noticeable difference in mid-range torque, and I assume the new 93 octane tune will add even more.

Its probably a humidity issue...or a blue moon issue. Or you may just be in a bad mood.

Can you describe what you mean by drive terribly? I have some days that are bag mpg days and i attribute this to weather or my sometimes lead foot (4.88 gears will make your truck way more fun to drive!). What are you experiencing?

i got a '17 about 2 years ago, a MT, and it was gawd awful to drive. there was no tune at the time, so i also got the Pedal Commander, and it literally saved me from selling the truck off. i have huge appreciation for the Pedal Commander from that. but i don't run that with the OV tune, not necessary [for me].

the PC did a good 'band aid' job of adding some semblance of grunt to the low and mid. the OV tune isn't a band aid, and it does create a noticeable torque bump from somewhere low on up into the mids. Mat has said something like 25-35ft/lbs... that sounds about right and you can definitely feel it, and it helps hugely with the driveability.

for the MT guys i would say if you're truly a driving enthusiast then it's worth $800 no question. and i'm saying that on 1.04R, waiting for 1.05 with great expectation.

Every once in a while, probably every other month, the truck drives almost like stock where it shifts too much, it makes very sloppy shifts, and it doesn’t seem to have as much get up and go to it. Don’t know if it might be a bad batch of gas but it’s happened a few times. The most recent time im saying is because of winter gas since it’s getting to that time

I'm definitely an enthusiast so that's good news, thanks. And yes the PC is awesome, totally different truck and absolutely worth it. I may get the tune
