    I got a sport 4x4 and looking to start damaging my wallet. What do you guys consider a must have mod that would take my taco to the next level? I recently saw a video of a guy replacing the stock air filter with the TRD High Performance Air Filter. $55 bucks upgrade and the filter can be cleaned and reused for the life of the truck. Not a must have but it's a cheap upgrade that increases the performance of the engine.

    Any thoughts?

    dont waste your money on the KN filter...

    Best bang for your money mod First is HID light set up. I recommend quality brand and well know customer service- TRS Morimoto Elite HID I have the 35w 4500k they are bright but I would recommend the 55w and 5500k because them seem to me much brighter and white from what I hear and seen first hand from mine.
    (Best mod I think, if you have the money to go Retrofit headlight then more power to you)

    2nd - LED interior light conversion, plenty of member sell a full set of LED bulbs on here.
    - LED back up light bulb, I recommend the set I bought. Very satisfied https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/brightest-led-reverse-light-bulb.568331/

    3rd- some all weather floor mats, I recommend weather tec

    thats should be a affordable Tacoma starter pack

    I have a pile of parts awaiting my truck, so far pro grill with oem garnish, Subaru tweeters (actually put these in my van because it took less than 5 minutes, they sound awesome), speakers, LED headlights, highbeams, and fogs, bumpershellz that I painted Cavalry blue, vent visors, trailer brake controller, fluid film.

    Stuff I will do once I get the truck, bed mat, mudflaps, cargo divider, roof rack (hoping to negotiate these into the deal). 2” lift, 265/75-16 Duratracs (if I hate the stock tires in the snow), OV tune, and maybe TRD pro cat back exhaust, front and rear camera anytime mod, maybe clutch accumulator delete, I’ll give it a couple thousand miles first to do that.

    Maybe it's just marketing hype:

    "Increase performance with TRD Air Filters. The free-flowing design allows for maximum air to enter your engine with minimal resistance, free of damaging debris. By reducing the amount of junk getting into your engine while increasing airflow, TRD Performance Air Filters can give your engine added power and better fuel economy. Enhancing the clean air flow without disturbing the calibration of the mass airflow sensor results in smoother, easier air intake and better overall performance without negative side-effects.

    Vital for the protection and longevity of your motor, TRD High-Performance Oil Filters help prevent premature engine wear. Simply put, a TRD Oil Filter takes the junk out of your oil giving you a cleaner, smoother running engine.

    Using a state of the art design and a perforated steel inner core to help prevent element collapse, TRD Oil Filters help your vehicles reliability even in worst-case scenarios."

    What's involved in the headlight conversion? My low beams suck.

    This and that...
    Went AEM for the air filter. Used in my Jeep for over 70K miles. Live in CO so every o2 molecule counts plus reusable.

    Other mods including supercharger...

    What I have done (not in this order):

    * Fumoto oil valve
    * Front window tint
    * Aux fuse panel for future accessories
    * Off road lights if needed
    * Sell OEM tires
    * LED replacement lights for the interior.
    * Suspension if needed, don't know where you're located.
    * Front license plate mount by a guy who custom makes them on TW so you dont have to drill your bumper, if needed...
    * Anytime fogs
    * Anytime rear camera
    * Jones Exhaust
    *
    *
    *
    *
    *
    *
    * And so on as long as you spend time on this forum...

    I am getting a new Pro soon, I plan to do some light to moderate off roading with it.

    For me the top 10 things to mod will be:
    1. More offroad worthy tires (cause the pro should have come with them from the factory...)
    2. 17" TRD SEMA Wheels (cause the pro should have come with them from the factory...)
    3. Rock sliders (protect the sill panels)
    4. Redline Tuning hood QuickLift Elite kit (cause I don't like using a prop rod)
    5. 12v interior "always on" mod (just a nice feature to have)
    6. Front & Backup "any time" Camera mod (just a nice feature to have)
    7. Weather Tech floor mats (cause Rain and Mud + Carpet SUCKS)
    8. Lighting - LED bar/pods (just a nice feature to have)
    9. Southern Style Offroad - Slimline Bumper No LED (somewhere to put the winch :) )
    10. Smittybilt Gen2 X20 10k Winch (something to put in the bumper :) )

    TRD or K/N air filter or ANY Performance air filter is just going to let more air in your motor.. along with more air born particles..

    If u want higher ‘performance’ just take the air filter out completely :bananadead:

    Might as well take off all the paneling, the bed and cut off the top of the roof, lets make this beast more aerodynamic!
