Tacoma interior sounds like an XJ

Well, it’s not nearly as bad as that, but recently I’ve begun to hear the kinds of squeaks, ticks and rattles etc. coming from the driver door area that resemble the sounds of a unibody suv, or a 90s Chevy, if anyone knows what I mean. That sound of the interior getting ready to explode every time you pull into a driveway as the truck twists up a little.

I think it’s coming from the window or door seal.

Anyone else notice this?

 

Check the base of the A pillars where they contact the dash parts/tweeter grills. If you see plastic powder it’s from rub. Slip some moleskin in the area to see if it stops.

 

I heard there's trouble with the tweeter cover's up front. And mostly noticable when it's cold. I know there's threads on the fix somewhere on here. Hold your hand over it while you drive to see if that's the area. People also put business cards in there to diagnose. Good luck.

 

My tweeter grills rattle when cold and something behind my gauge panel (sounds like the joint just behind the gauge panel on the dash) creaks/rattles when it's warm. Always something. My fix was to get MTs to partially drown them out.
