I don't think the legality effects the availability much. Maybe the cost.

The last 6 weeks has been sorta rough to get through. But ya know what? The last 61-1/2 have been pretty good overall. Not gonna let the latest turn of events get me down. It is what it is...

Sorry to hear about this Bill !!!

I myself have been noticing uncontrollable l /hand tremors that are bad enough people comment about it . Has been going on now for about a year and my upcoming VA primary health doctor will mention it to him

I was around and used alot of hazardous chemicals in the Marines such as TCE and PCE Solvents which was primary use of of aircraft cleaning Solvents

Sorry to hear that, but I think they have been making great strides in a cure. https://www.everydayhealth.com/park...ment-gives-parkinsons-patient-a-new-life.aspx

If you can, take a vacation to a state where pot is legal (like WA) and try it out. If it causes significant improvement then I would consider moving. Never give up, you've worked hard for a good life and this is not the time to stop.

Well aren't you just the sweetest thing - what a nice offer! Funny you mention that though... my wife is a marathoner with a goal of 1 per state and per continent. She's relatively early on in this pursuit (less than 15 states, plus Germany and Taiwan), but I'll tell ya, it makes for a heck of an excuse to see this country; for example, I can't say I planned to visit Kansas on vacation BUT - she did a marathon in Wamego (home of the Wizard of Oz museum!) and we turned it into a great family get-away. I can tell you that UT still has not gotten that check mark, and when I mentioned your comment to her, of course the first thing she mentioned was the ongoing marathon plan!

Unfortunately, she's been having some difficult phantom pains all over, and that has really curtailed her running quite a bit. In fact, it's gotten bad enough that she has had to take up swimming to maintain some physical activity; even biking is challenging. She is getting pretty frustrated that the doctors are just handing her off, one to another, with no real resolution in sight. I know she loves running, so this delay has been annoying for her to say the least.

But thanks again, and I just might look you up when all this gets better!

Any tremor should be reported as soon as possible. If it's something progressive, you want to start treatment quickly. Like cancer, early diagnosis is key.

Quite frankly, I'm not surprised of all the brain related issues in the last few years. The US auto industry was purposely dumping huge amounts of lead into our air from 1921 to 1988. Lead is known to cause major damage to humans, and now we have contaminated the planet with it.

Like I mentioned I've got a Primary Health appt at my local VA in a few weeks and will be mentioning this to my Doctor

I know it's from being exposed to hazardous chemicals at my old base , MCAS El Toro especially at my old Hangar #296 . Not only exposed to Aircraft cleaning solvent but also radiation exposure to radium -226

This Military base especially my hangar where I worked is so contaminated that it's on the Superfund cleanup registry . The VA won't recognize any health related issues to any Marines or Navy personnel who were stationed there from 1946 to 1999

This is my old hangar at MCAS El Toro !!

    :eek::eek::eek:

My aunt's long-term BF (never married) got exposed to a lot of bad stuff in Vietnam, and he had lung problems for the last - I don't know - 15 years? He passed last year at home, and I was actually there at the moment. I just stopped there with the kids to see him, as we occasionally did. He wasn't doing well, but never complained or blamed the military, he was always proud of his service and country. He gave me a bunch of pics from when he was over there, and he gave me his favorite motorcycle jacket, which fit me perfect; he was so happy when I put it on and it fit that well, I'm sure it reminded him of when he could still fill it out. The thing was, he had all his pins on it. Not just the pins from all the long rides he had done, but some commemorative military pins too, like a Ranger Pin, Vietnam Service Pin, Purple Heart Pin (not the actual award), etc. He gave me the jacket as is, and like I said he was all smiles when he saw me in it, but I couldn't in good conscience keep the pins on there. I told him I was giving the pins back, although he told me to keep them on. I gave them to my Aunt anyway. Now that he's gone, I sometimes wonder if that was the right thing to do. I mean, I couldn't wear them as if they were mine, as that is dishonest and disrespectful obviously. But he did tell me to keep them on...

Yikes! It always makes me sad to know how little the military cares for our soldiers. They will give you a ballistic vest, then make you shovel spent Uranium shells. Crazy stuff.

If we wait till the aliens come, I hear they will clean up El Toro. Or maybe that was just a movie.

The problem you might have is with folks who served / were there so unless you got a patch in memorial of his name and such on it then stick the pins in that patch.

I've lost a few Vietnam era Veteran friends from Agent Orange exposure

The chemical exposure is so bad there that construction workers hired to clean up the base during the Superfund cleanup process have died !!!

Yep. I didn't think about it until I took a ride one particularly arctic winter day (damn was that cold) and looked at the pins as I was gearing up. I felt pretty stupid, so I went inside and took them off right away.

But I had plenty of stupid left, so I went for that ride anyway.

    20141114_093848-1-1.jpg

Somebody I knew happened to see me and snapped off a couple pics, like, "Damn, who's that dummy riding around today."
