Hey guys. Ok, this just started today and I searched for this particular situation. I learned how to fix the rattle between dash and windshield and the passenger speaker grill rattle but not this issue.

Moderate bumps such as a rough road there’s a rattle inside my dash and comes and goes. If I hit the gas hard and let off, it will hit and make a loud sound, like plastic hitting plastic. To me, it sounds like a loose wiring harness hitting the dash. It’s some where in the general area between the stereo and glove box. Any of you experience this and know what it might be? I know, warranty, but I wanna go in guns blazin or if a quick fix, I’ll do it myself. Thanks for any help!

Glove box empty of anything that could cause it?

Yeah, I forgot to mention the glove box is empty (just manuals and registration) and nothing in the center console or cup holders.

Are your manuals in a pouch? Mine didn’t come with one and they slide around all the time making a ton of noise

I looked. They haven’t budged. But this is a plastic hitting plastic sound. Like something loose. This came out of the blue and out of no where.

Are the sun visors unsnapped as if you were going to swing them over to the side window? If mine aren't snapped back in tight they make annoying clicks.

I think I remember a thread about a clip that was rattling on the wire harness behind the glovebox. Search around because the dealer is probably gonna say they can’t replicate the problem

There are 7 (?!?) lines going to the back of the head unit. Some are single, some bundles, some with a lot of slack. It is easy for them to come into contact with the underside of the dash or the HVAC ducts. I pulled the head unit and zip-tied them together to take up the slack and add some rigidity. There are also a few yellow plugs under the passenger air bag that are on the loose side. Two share the same mount and are right in your face if you pull the trim above the glove box (screw upper-left corner, screw lower-right corner behind glove box trim, 8-clips). The third is buried close to the firewall in the center. All were pretty sloppy. Zip-tied the two and padded the one close to the firewall. Seems to have taken care of it.

Hey guys! Yup they heard it and it was the harness behind the radio. They said they also went ahead and tightened up the one behind the glove box as it’s been a known problem!

Thanks guys for your help and insight!
