Looking for a high output alternator for 2018 Tacoma

Can anyone suggest where I can find a high output alternator. Thank you

How many amps did you end up getting, and what about was the price, if you don’t mind me asking? I got a quote from Apex Alternators today, and it was $560 for a 320 amp 6 phase hairpin, $530 for a 300 amp hairpin, or $470 for a 240 amp hairpin.

 

180 amps is 320$, 260 amps is 385$.

Yeah, I haven’t got a quote from them yet. I got a quote from Apex and Irragi. DC Power is supposed to be another good one. The place the OP got his from, is highly regarded from what I’ve read, it’s supposed to be one of the better places.

I just wanted to know what kind of options there were, and mainly if there were any, before I get serious about doing a major system. Between a HO alternator, a decent battery, and the new heavier gauge wire needed to be ran, plus fuse upgrade, that’s probably $1k-$1.5k right there alone.

 

i was quoted 350 to 470 depending on output from singer. i can't recall what the outputs were.

 

Mike singer is the only alternator i use and refer to, especially here up north.

His quality and support cannot be beat period!
I was discussing with him not long ago that we should host a group buy so if there is enough that are currently looking for alts i can definitely put one together for him.

Alt output really is based on what you are after, high idle Amperage, peak amperage etc.
I personally, based on the nature of most 4x4 rigs would want an alternator matched with a smaller pulley to turn on faster @ a lower RPM speed. Meaning you reach your max amperage at a a lower idle speed and not over 2k RPM

 

1.5k for that is a little steep.
I can point you in the right direction not a problem and save you some $ with higher performing equipment.

 

So my alt. should arrive on Tuesday. I will post after install with my comments.
