When you have time soon, please get that measurement between your 2.5" shock and tire sidewall bulge

Here's what i was able to grab. Let me know if there's other angles you need. I can put it up on stands if it helps you. Hard to squeeze a tape measure and a phone camera in there lol.

Excuse all the Arizona clay that's now infused into every inch of my truck, i hate that shit with a passion

About an inch between the widest part of the tire and the shock body. The angles look weird for some reason.

Thanks a TON! I did preliminary measurements on a stock 2002 TRD, but this helps with a modified truck plus seeing a 2.5 in there. That is right up against the frame. So this is a 265/75-16 on 3.5" BS wheels

yessir, 16x8. We even spaced out the shock hoop from the body with 3/16 plate, and angled the hoop outwards slightly to make sure the shock had enough clearance.

When i articulate, the tires rub the shock, and i have to replace the king decals every time i rebuild the shocks. Thankfully they're local and give me half a roll ever time i go lol.

I'm thinking 1.25" spacers would probably make my idea work with 3.5" BS wheels.

Chunky! A modest increase to 3" spacer then should... Kidding!

thus the plans for a wider axle. But still. I'd planned on shoving some 2.5s in there somehow..

This is assuming you’re fitting the shock into the wheel well and not under the bed, correct? Just wanted to clarify.

Will you be supplying new lower shock mounts as well?

Will they be matched to where they land on the axle? Due to the way the axle necks down right where the lowers need to be, one of the mounts should have a smaller diameter where it lands. I'll try to grab a picture of what I'm talking about.

FWIW, if/when this is released, i may cut out my existing setup and switch over. So count me interested.

Yes, new axle tabs supplied as well - full kit style with bolts.

I already measured the axle and saw the step down outboard the springs, then welded snout. Are your tabs welded to bearing snout?

If you were to remove your kit and go this way, it wont fit piggys so you'd be in for new shocks but then 2.5x12 is possible with axle tabs not being lower than your current setup.

    I’m
kind of stuck with 10’s as the J59’s don’t cycle more than that, but I have no issue with converting to remote res, that’s just new top hats and a hose.

Curious to see how this works out, although I'm set with my rear suspension.

I have half an inch between my frame and tire at full stuff, so no shocks outside the frame for me. I don't want a lot of tire poke, and even with 1.25 spacers I couldn't fit 'em.

10" shocks are fine, you won't cycle more than that on a 1st gen using stock spring mounts or going way negative with the pack.

Also, not many people building 1st gens at this point, pretty small market even if you can make it work.

    Best of luck,
