    Hey TW,

Just had my local tire place put 265/70r17 General Grabber AT2's on the 4runner TRD Pro wheels and then on my stock 2011 Tacoma 4Door LB. I am getting minor rub on the mudguards (on the front wheels) which I was expecting. But I am also getting some serious rubbing between the tire and the inside of the front bumper... serious enough that it is grabbing the inside corner of the bumper. It is worse on the right side than it is on the left.

Has anyone had this problem? What could be the issue? There seems to be more space between the tire and front bumper on the left side then on the right.

Trucks just sitting at the tire place until I figure out a solution. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks

Welcome! Some rubbing issues on that size are from bad caster, did you get an alignment? I had GG at2's on my previous taco, they are big for the size.

I'll grab some pics and post them. Would an alignment maybe help this out?

Did you have rubbing on the front bumper or anything like this? Did you have them aligned? I know there are a lot of instances of rubbing on the mudguards but haven't seen this issue yet.

I have zero rubbing of any kind with that size on stock Sport rims.1st pic is the left front wheel turned. Still plenty of room. Same on the front near the bumper

An alignment can possibly help. All Tacoma’s are different though.

Here are some videos I just posted of what's going on. My buddy has the same setup — 17 inch wheels with 65/70r17 GG at2's and it's close in front but it doesn't rub in the front.... he has some of the usual rub on the mudflap.

Right tire turning — Lots of rub
    https://youtu.be/vIf6C_5D3Ic

Left tire turning — A very slight rub
    https://youtu.be/Aa4zz0BkFCQ

Could the bumper be misaligned or something? The spacing between the left wheel and the bumper and the right wheel and bumper are different.

Did you try an alignment yet?

No, hopefully going to make that happen tomorrow. Just thought I'd show the videos to see if someone thought an alignment may actually fix it.

Alignment is a good place to start. Hopefully it works out

Iirc the t4r's wheels sit in a little more than other wheels too(offset is higher). This could be a part of the problem added to larger tires and possible alignment issue. A caster around 3-4 degrees positive should help, if you're not already there.

Awesome. Appreciate the suggestion. I'm bringing it over today to get aligned and hopefully that will help solve the issue

I’d just trim the plastic, if the alignment checks out.

Haven't had time to get over for an alignment. Drove it around a little today and it doesn't rub unless I'm doing a hard enough turn. Looks like the corner of my bumper looks a little loose. Going to start with the alignment when I can get it over to the shop sometime this week. Hoping tomorrow or Thursday
