starting to wonder if the damn stealership actually did a fluid exchange when they did my rear brakes (done when they did the rear axle seal). I added on a brake fluid flush/exchange since it had never been done. Shouldn't it be more translucent?

Can you flush your brake fluid by yourself?

I’d imagine bleeding would be difficult

Yeah, its a safety issue. I've thought about it but if I fck it up - nope, don't want to think about it. Just one of those things I'll eat the cost on. Thanks all for feedback. I'll let it go as is.

On another note, Sunday morning and the project list is busting up the remaining concrete slab on the patio and whittling away at the tree stump. Trying to do as much as I can before I call in the pro concrete outfit and stump remover.

Instead of being out back working, I'm sitting here watching Saving Private Ryan ---

agree but when it comes to brakes, i draw the line. thx for the encouragement though.

Does the system have to be bled if just changing the front pads/rotors? Only bleed air from system when doing rear, right?

Start at the farthest wheel from the master cylinder, in this case the bleed process will be: RR, RL, FR, FL.

Take a Gatorade bottle, and poke a hole in the cap to fit 1/4 inch tubing. Open the master cylinder and suck out all the old fluid with a turkey baster + refill with new fluid.

Go to the RR wheel and crack open the bleeder valve, attach the tubing to the bleeder, crack it open, and go pump the brake pedal a few times until you hear brake fluid squiring into the bottle. Don’t let the reservoir run dry.

Rinse and repeat. That’s the one man bleeder method.

When fluid filming can I take a rag or something and wipe the excess off?
