Agreed @Roostfactor. Nothing is too much for my pride and joy! And you’re almost retired too, which means you have loads of disposable income.

I think $200 is a good target to shoot for.

Maybe there’s a way to use the existing tensioner and replace only the arm? This just arrived. It was only $18, maybe I’ll tear it apart and see what’s what.

I’d be in favour of just replacing the arm if that’s possible. Where did you source this particular stock tensioner?

The arm is the weak point, correct?

FYI, anyone looking to replace tensioner in the mean time. Easy way to find one is look up 2010 F150 5.4L V8.

@JacksonTacoma if possible can you post some VERY close up pictures of the failure? Would help me to see if it's brittle or a fatigue failure, and also if there was an initiation point (i.e. possible stress riser built into the design).

Perhaps it isn't a weak point in the design, but that the stress was induced at a point not designed for.

I think it's a combination of weak design and added stress. I had 69.5 belt with 2.5 pulley and the pulley wrap mod.

I appreciate it mang. Looks like I'm living on borrowed time myself, 69" belt with 2.0 pulley.

It should had never snapped. That's the same size I have run in the past. 2.5 with a 69.5" belt makes the belt 1 inch shorter to compensate for the .5" reduction of the pulley. I now run 1.5 inches shorter than stock to compensate for a .7" pulley size reduction. I've never had an issue, even prior to shaving the tensioner stop.

Interesting... I guess that means the tensioner is simply a piece of sh!t.

I don't know man. Clearly there has got to be some sort of defect in the metal or the casting process or something. I bought my blower in 2015 so I wonder if the guys who had their blower tensioners snap simply had an older design.

My question is are they all made in China? Or are there differences in quality anywhere?

I'm going to guess China is the origin of manufacturer. It's definitely not a product which has been made here in the states.
