I have the Nuna Pipa installed behind the passenger seat, and while it's tight, it fits. My wife is 5'3" and is comfortable up front, but I'd say 5'8" and taller it'll be cramped. Depending on which state you live in and their respective laws of front-facing, its only temporary (unless you have ANOTHER baby) and it'll work for the time being. Our other car is a 2014 Audi SQ5 and its the same issue.

I just put a deposit on a 4Runner TRD Pro this evening with plans to grab it tomorrow. Nothing at all against the Tacoma... it has some great features but with a growing family i opted for the larger interior

Lol only cause you aren’t a Tacoma owner yet.. Chevy/ford call them crew and king cab. Here at TW it’s Double Cab haha but its true the Colorado has great reviews about having a little more cabin space. you won’t be disappointed with either choice but more improtantly congulations on the New Born.

I have my rear facing seat in the middle of my double cab. Its a tight fit, and would not fit on either side. As much as I love my Tacoma, I likely would not have bought it had we known we were having a kid.

I put an infant seat in the middle, a britax marathon and and britax frontier in the truck the other day hauling kids around after my main kid hauler got rear ended. The infant seat will only fit in the middle unless you have no legs. It is a tight fit but we got everyone in there.

Night and day difference in how the 3rd gen Tacoma vs 4Runner goes down the road. I've owned both in the past, with kids and car seats. You've made a wise choice, so don't look back. You'll love the runner and you and the kids will be more comfortable for sure. Though the car seats fit in a DC Tacoma, it's not an ideal situation.

If you can make due without a pickup bed, the 4runner is unquestionably a better vehicle with kids and car seats.

Tough call.. If the Tundra was updated and had some modern amenities, it would have made it an easier choice for me. I couldn't get over the fact that when i got into a tundra (say, platinum for good measure) it felt like i just crawled into a truck that was built in 2010, not 2016 (when I bought my truck).

I still really enjoy the Tacoma for its size, but thats the double edged sword..

Here is what I ended up picking up.... I think it’s just a fractionally better family mobile for my specific situation. Not knocking the taco in any way. 3B4FF411-E176-4621-9365-14EE37F2027E.jpg

I guess... they didn’t have it called out on the window sticker but I assume that is the case. I’m not sure if I will keep it or not... can’t make up my mind if I like it or not yet. You like it?

    Not in the slightest

That 4-Runner itself though is awesome. Congrats

I'm still trying to decide, too. It's definitely not bad. But is it good? Hmm. Something about it looks like it's supposed to be there. Almost like it's an actual body line.

Hey, awesome truck btw. I'm jealous.

ya. prob a good move. in extensive research sans Ram trucks of full size trucks, the F150
5.0 engine truck was not bad in MPG. If MPG not a concern, I LOVED a Tundra Crew shortbox I demo-ed. But Le Wife didn't like the size and we do not tow...
The taco has grown on me for the woods tho. Good luck and buckle the kids well. Many local fire stations will help set up if you are baffled.

I have 6 year old granddaughters. No problem with them in my 2005 Tacoma, and now with the 2018 still no problem, of course they aren’t facing the rear now.
