hey tacoma world! I’ve seen some post on here about people wanting custom sail panels or pillars made. And I’d like to offer my services! I can build them for you guys! Ive been a profesional custom car audio installer/Fabricator for 10 years! I usually charge 650 for a pair of simple pillars that includes all of my labor, materials, paint or vynl finish. Here’s a few pics of my work.

Not trying to take away from what you do but plastic mold injection or even 3D printing seems like a less expensive alternative.

Yes I agree but this is for speakers every speaker is different so it would be more costly to make them that way

I can see someone paying $650 for something like a complete amplified subwoofer enclosure that goes behind the seats, but A pillars? Seriously?

You might be able to make some custom add-on "blisters" that would mount to the existing A pillars with far less work and cost invested. Also, many speakers come in standard sizes and configurations, so there really doesn't need to be that much variation.

However...If you can custom mount some 15" subs in the A pillars for $650, I think you will have a lot of customers.

Great work! But damn.. that’s a little steep IMO. Trust me, I know how much labor is involved as I use to do this same fab work.

My suggestion: What would really make your life simpler is a custom 3D printed pod that would flow to the couture of the a-pillar. (You’d still have to cut a clearance hole behind for tweeter depth and wires) then you could leave the pod as-is. Would have the smallest lip but would look almost integrated. Or a little blending and sanding and you could vinyl/suede wrap it etc. for a true 1piece look.
Make technology work in your favor!

If you are serious about sound quality 650 for a set of custom pillars for on axis speakers is not a whole lot! People who get these pillars are usually spending $1500-3500 for the front speakers and having them on axis makes a huge difference.

I see we’re you are coming from and that would be a good uneversal option but with all the different speakers it makes it hard because if you want a good looking pillar with a cover to hide the screw holes for the speaker. And the speaker to sit flush rather then on top of the panel there is no way other then custom.

Sorry everyone I was rushing while making this post and I’m going to move it to the audio video section. I’m not making custom pillar handles for the driver side I make custom a pillars to mount speakers or sail panels for the same reason.

Actually.. makes it easier for intricate speaker pod design. Once you have a stock A-pillar modeled up, the sky is the limit. 2 ways, 3 ways, off axis, whatever. Speakers would still fit flush.... Just as much as the hand made versions in the 1st post. The rear of the tweeter would still have to protrude into the A-pillar too(so cutting a hole is also necessary).
Just sayin'..a 3D Printed "adaptable" pod might be a good idea. But I would prob start at the sail panels first. For a novice, less modification and pickup signal right in door. Although I do appreciate your versions !

    Too much.
And this post is exactly why I keep hounding people that 3d print to do sail panels. They are smaller, less material, etc......
