    Ice and heat treatment is what you need to do to that back, trust me.
    Heat does make it feel better, but in conjunction with the ice is what does the job.

    It wrings your shit out. I took/taught gymnastics (floor only) as a kid/young adult and 35 years later I'm paying the price. Acupuncture has worked well for me as well as ice/heat. It's not covered by my Kaiser plan, but flex spending covers it. Not unlike chiropractors, there are multiple initial visits to see where things are at and where they need to move. I'm currently going once a month for "maintenance". I get some tiny, tiny needles and some direction for meditation and promptly go to sleep. It is a refreshing afternoon nap, but nothing compared to the after afternoon sex nap. Those can be the best. If I f up and overdo something I typically see results/relief within a few hours of a visit. And those improvements seem to last. Of course, each person is different and they respond differently to treatments. It's just something to consider or try. I've known lots of people with chronic back problems (assuming this is the case here). It can be most brutal. Best wishes for some real relief.

    Hot yoga followed by ice therapy has been a game changer for me. I can gently (or not) stretch my shoulders, back, and hips in a warm/hot room and go home and ice the stuff that hurts bad until I can't feel it anymore. Detox to retox. No one wants stale toxins, you gotta make room for new stuff.:)
    {Holy shit, this forum has smilies for days. It can make it hard to choose.}

    Sounds like a plan! I believe all of us a coming from East Bay. So, if you guys want we can do caravan. It will be easier for Don as well. I was planning on getting there by 9 am or so only if that works for everyone.
